CB750 / Honda CB750 K1 Carb bowl gaskets
« on: May 05, 2023, 11:52:28 AM »
I have recently refurbed all the carbs on my 1972 K1. I bench fitted all the bowl gaskets while on the bench but needed to remove the bowls once fitted to the bike. The gaskets drop out and are very difficult to locate back into the carb body, especially the centre carbs. Does anyone have any methods to ensure they are located securely without removing the carbs again.
Thanks in anticipation

CB750 / 750 K1 grumbling gearbox
« on: September 02, 2020, 05:00:04 PM »
My 72 UK K1 has developed a grumbling sound from the gearbox while idling. I know about the primary chain noise so it is not that sounds a bit like a bearing. Bike has done 70K miles any ideas? sounds like it could be expensive.

CB750 / CB750 K1

When cruising at about 60-70 my bike seems to 'hunt' or falter slightly. Opening the throttle it is fine. As we are only part throttle I have ordered pilot jets size 42 which is one size up. these are about 4 mm longer than the STD ones. will these be OK as obviously will pick up fuel from lower in the float bowl.. Can anyone throw any light on my predicament?

CB750 / Cb 750 K1

After rebuilding the top end on my 72 K1 with 341 exhausts I now find that when cruising at 60 to 70 the engine is 'hunting' give it a touch more throttle and everything is ok until cruising again. Plug colour is good after a plug chop so wondering if I need to put larger pilot jets in ( currently std). Has any of our experts any comments please?

Anyone on the forum know where I can get the next size up from #40 pilot jets?

CB750 / Carb main jet settings CB750 K1
« on: March 08, 2015, 04:50:25 PM »
1972 CB750 K1 with HM241 pipes. Currently running with 110 mains and 40 pilots but it is bogging down on 1/2 to 3/4 throttle.
Never did this before the top end rebuild I have recently completed.
When I restored the bike back in 2003 I had to change jets to 110 to make it run OK so why the change now?
Any comments from the experts out there?

CB750 / Cb750 misfire
« on: February 22, 2015, 12:20:41 PM »
OK
Engine top end rebuild clean carbs, new plugs, carbs balanced, timing spot on but have a misfire. Bogs down over half throttle and pops on overrun as if the exhaust is leaking.
The only thing I can find is that the rubber bellmouths are not a great fit into the air filter casing as they have shrunk with age.
Any of the experts out there with any clues?
