No I haven't . So do you mean close them all completely then turn them all on 2 full turns?

Ah Julie.

How pleasant to here from you.

Yes No 1 is working. Engine miss fires to the point of stopping when I unplug it.
Tank nearly full. Choke operates but not sure what you mean by correct position. I can turn choke off and engine runs but need plenty of juice.

Hi all.
I hope that you are all well and loaded with tons of advice for me about this problem

After I bought the bike I noticed that revs needed to be well over 3.5k revs to get moving otherwise the engine stalled.
Since then I've refurbed the carbs. Then had that awful problem fitting the airbag back but just about managed. Then off road a while whilst I changed oil and filter.  Turned over yesterday and whilst I didn't ride it the engine sounded rough and wouldn't tick over at low revs. Needed 3 k or so to keep going.  After I refurbed the carbs I replaced ignition with electronic and cleaned plugs and checked that they sparked. They did.

While keeping the engine running at over 3k revs I removed the number 4 plug ht connector. No change in sound or rhythm of motor. Ergo no 4 Not firing??

I replaced and removed no 1 lead and the engine just spluttered to a stop.

Help. How should I proceed. I'l buy new plugs and check that they all spark. what then

Help

CB350/400 / Fuel cap fastening pins

Help. I have a newly chromed fuel cap and 2 new pins. 1 for the cap hinge and the other for the chrome catch.
How do you fit them. It seems like some kind of rivet

Ok thanks. Don't have a torque spanner but I'll tighten it gently and if oil seeps i'l give it a little more.

Cheers Ricardo

CB350/400 / multiple spares on offer
« on: October 29, 2018, 05:12:56 PM »
Hi all.
My bike came with a LOT of spare parts bought as a job lot by the previous owner and passed on to me.

I live SE London SE19.

If anyone wants to come and have a look then they will be welcome to take them away.

They include: A cylinder head with a box of valve springs which I suspect go together.....
A set of gears for the gearbox (of course) I've been told complete and look in healthy condition to me but hey I'm a doctor and don't know what healthy cogs look like.
Various electrical things such as a starter motor and condensers
a load of switches for handle bars.
Various other items  which if you want to look you are welcome to have.

I really don't want much at all for these but I'l happily let them go to anyone who makes an ordinary offer.  I won't be squabbling over small amounts.
Trust me I'm a doctor... This will hurt.
PS send me a personal message if you're interested

CB350/400 / front end wobble
« on: October 28, 2018, 12:13:15 PM »
Hi Ricardo here.

I'm moving on to sort this problem out. It's very noticeable at low speeds especially on cornering.
Front tyre nearly new and air pressure ok. It was initially a little flat and topping up the air made a slight difference.
It does need new front brake pads which I'll do as part of the front end work.
I understand that 1) wheel bearings 2) bearings etc in front fork and 3) front springs could  be the reason. How would you suggest I started diagnosing the cause.

Many thanks for the advice. Should I re fit the ugly oil cooler or just ride in a leisurely fashion?
