[ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] Hi all esp Julie. Here are 2 pics of the current cam ends. I 'daren't remove the camshaft to show seats. The worse one is the r side and the other the left. Centres are good. The old cover is being picked up today. Do you want a pic of the respective seats?? The new one I've got has very good seats. 78

CB350/400 / cam cover and camshaft seats.« on: September 22, 2018, 11:23:59 AM »
Good morning everyone. Anyone got anything happy to say about my cam shaft and cover.
After removing the cam cover for a spruce up by a pro I noticed 1 of the bolt holes had spilt. As these keep the cam cover firmly over the centre of the camshaft I felt this was not a great idea. I showed it to my pro and he got his pro to give an option. He noticed some excess wear on both end cam shaft seats. Middles seemed okay. I acquired a second hand cover just in case and we compared them together. The replacement cover had almost pristine seat surfaces. There is some wear on the cam shaft surfaces in the same places as the cover was worn. No surprise. Big question. Do I need a replacement shaft. Do I need to remove shaft to inspect cylinder head elements. Any other suggestions. EG do I need a remortgage 80

Sorry Matron. I did not mean to offend you. In fact I was so upset with myself that I dashed with a decoy bedpan into the sluice room to have a cry.

Hi all.
In particular Sister Julie. Am acquaintance of mine said that on a regular basis spray the block with wd 40 to help clear any dirt. Is this advisable 83
CB350/400 / cam cover seal« on: September 21, 2018, 09:04:58 AM »
Hi. I'm about to replace my cam cover with a new part. How do you keep the flexible seal in the grooved on the cover when you invert it? It is supposed to be a dry seal I am told.

Hi Boilermaker.
Sorry about confusion. Coincidentally I will be swapping my exhaust for a new one soon. The old downpipes are in reasonable condition and will be available when I have swopped the pipes. Interested?? Richard 85

I've just fitted new ones on mine. They are far too long and have to cut them. You're welcome to them but I'm not sure if they will be long enough. They are only vents. Let me know and I'll put them in the post.

Many thanks to you all. getting carbs on was ok it was just the airbox. From what you say I was on the right track so will persevere. Anyone know a cheap supplier of knuckle skin. I'm getting a bit short of it.

Thanks to all of you. I'm now sorted. Haynes doesn't say is what a bitch the pivot arms are to reinsert??? 1 of those tiny spacers between the screw and the ball head of the arm was missing. Disaster or not ?? it's only draws the fuel cylinders back and forth. Please tell me soon before I put the unit back in the bike!!
Thanks Ricardo 90

OK thanks. Glad I'm not the only one. Problem is I don't know if they're blocked. I don't have a well fitting screw driver. What is a Jizz set. sounds a bit rude. Is white vinegar a bad idea??
