CB750 / Wiring
« on: December 14, 2020, 04:05:30 PM »
Wiring idiot here, starter switch has RY + B, diagram says RY + RG.
Am I right in thinking B connects into RG?

CB750 / Exhausted working this problem.
« on: November 01, 2020, 05:54:09 PM »
I have spent most of my afternoon failing on this one. I  have a jardine 4 into 2 exhaust that was on a k6. I have a k6 engine in an f2 frame. I just cant seem make it fit. Is there that much of a difference? I  assumed as the engine sits straight in it would be workable.

CB750 / Oil filter case base.
« on: October 22, 2020, 07:46:24 PM »
It is now pretty clear the PO put a k6 engine in the f2 frame. However, they fitted the finned base plate from the f2 oil filter housing onto the k6. My  inexperienced logic is seeing this as one extra place to add a seal that one day may leak. Are there any practical reasons to leaving it on? The case for originality has very little bearing in this instance.

Anorak's Corner / Who is good at model dating?...oooeer.

I figured this was the right section for narrow this down. My background in vintage cameras often finds me trying to square of details, just for the curiosity angle.  My bike,  frame and engine numbers are stated on the log book as registered in 1982. Originally sold to me as a Honda britain cb750 ss limited edition. I know it is not! Far to many inconsistencies all around. I  assumed though it had been based on a sohc f2 though all thr same.  1982 however seems very late for that even. What do the more knowledgeable heads say? Could it be just old showroom stock?

New Member Introductions / Introduction from Plymouth.
« on: September 21, 2020, 07:58:51 PM »
Allow me to introduce myself. Hi! I am Ashley, Northerner but based in the south for a long time now. Started riding in the early 80s, exclusively Honda but per chance rather than design.  A cx500, cb650, cbx550, cb750k7 and a cbr1000. Starting a family brought an end to those fun days, I had a short spell on 1200 interstate in 2003/4 but more yovung'ns stopped that. Wifely offered an olive branch of a project bike so a  part built/in boxes cb750f2 in what was said to be the guise of a honda britain was purchased. A family event that turned everything on  its head left it in the corner of the garage for 15 years. Fast forward to lockdown and garage clear out with my 14 year old daughter inspired new enthusiasm. I  Have little mechanical skills but we read, watch anything related and slowly do a bit at a time. Frankly I am pretty sure now it is not a true  Britain which is of no consequence. Off the road since 97 the poor thing has not been treated well, so here is hoping we can change that around. I look forward to learning from the knowledge here and making new acquaintances.  Here are some pics of our budget shed build.
