Faircharm Restorations (Leicester area) did a really first class job for me. Bearing in mind your current experience, he does get busy, so I guess you’d need to satisfy yourself on the potential timelines.

Shane Rybicki at Faircharm Restorations Leicester. He’s familiar with candy paint and the craftsmanship is first class in my experience.

I won’t be able to help you with any of the restoration Ben but if it’s any incentive, I remember these as great little bikes. I had one in 1973 and you could rev it to death day in day out and it never missed a beat. Something to look forward to when the hard work is done.

That looks pretty neat: engine in/out on one of these looks a nightmare to someone like me who’s never tried it. I’d be up for giving that a go though. It will be interesting to see what those more experienced on here think. Thanks for posting.

Took mine out on a 750 recently; exactly as Integra says, just needs a bit of patience and careful use of the mallet and it frees up eventually. The other thing I found was to keep it ‘square’ when tapping out.

Autoglym for me too. Recently did mine; it’s not a great picture especially as it’s damp out there and it needs another polish, but hopefully it gives you an idea.

I don't know if he'd work on a Honda, but Pete Lovell of Pete Lovell Developments does smaller jobs using spark erosion. He's a long standing Norton man but it might be worth a try if you get really stuck.

Love that........who'd be a turkey.

Best wishes to everyone and thanks for the help so far in my short time on here.

Roll on spring; can't wait to try a 750 Honda Four for the first time. It's only taken 44 years since I first had the idea !

Looked them up quickly: seems they have a connection with Yokohama.

Thanks for the tips /views guys. Interestingly enough, I came across a comment somewhere on the net about Avons and the sidewall splitting.

I know this is not a 'new' topic and I have searched previous discussions on the subject, but I hope you will bear with me. From what I've read it pretty much seems that Avon Roadriders or Continental K112 and RB2 are the most common choices for a 750. Sizes for standard rims seem to be 100/90/19 and 120/90/18.  I'd like something which looks the part (Conti) but when push comes to shove, staying upright is more important (Avon?).

The bike already has a perfectly good Metzeler on the rear but I'm blowed if I can find a suitable match for the front (the front is currently a past it's sell by date Avon), so I'll just get a new set.

Based on your experience any recommendations please?

Oh, and  I don't bomb about anymore if that helps 😳
