Post by: Woodside on April 10, 2019, 04:58:17 PM
I'm just about to order a new front brake piston for my 500
Genuine 45 quid

Any one had any issues with the cheaper one ?

I’ve made  my own in past when needed as there’s nowt complicated to a piston as long as it’s correct size so I’d say a cheap pattern one will do.I think a decent quality seal is more important as that’s what makes the seal. When a piston is stuck in a Caliper it’s the rubber seal that locks it into the Caliper body

This one Bryan..
I always go for genuine but as you have all pointed out it is just a lump of metal...
Genuine kit for master cylinder will be on order

Thats the one, just make sure every last little piece os sh1t is removed from the seal groove, i use a steel pointed pick for this as the brass dremel brushes just tend to polish the crud and not remove it!
