So are you in Hull or Orkney's Ian? What's the reg of the 400/4 from Hull? One of mine was XDN128R (Varnish Blue) and can't remember the other one but would if I saw the reg again, painted White but orig. VB. plus Parakeet Yellow CAG242T that was nicked (it had brass front engine plates (don't ask, as the PO had access to laser cutting). Those Richie brothers, sons of Jack (Pat and Mick .. Pat used to rub his hands together whilst eyeing you up and down to see how much you would pay). They moved from the Junk Yard on temple St (Near Peter's 5-star Dealer) to De-Grey (Disgrace ) Street years ago into Neval's (Ural importers) old shop but it's not there any more. Evidently they still go to Rufforth Auto-Jumble, but never been there myself.
Interested in 400/4 side panels if you decide to sell them, for my Varnish Blue tank.
Only Guy i know from Riley THS of, possibly, your era is my old neighbour here's son-in-law Dave Hewitt. There also a guy I knew real well call Nick Robinson who attended there but he's probably a lot younger than you.
Cheers ... Ash
And they say us women like a gossip and a natter !!! Welcome Ian.

I know a chap with Crohn's who has been in remission for 13 years now with the aid of medications, it has never stopped him doing anything. He is a professional sailor and will be sailing around the world next year in the Vandee Globe challenge and completed the Fastnet Race a few years ago as well. Maybe anyone on this forum who has a bit of loose change laying around in the bottom of the tool box could send it to www.forcrohns.org to help their research in to the condition. Manageable but unfortunately not cureable, yet.

I would like to see the MOT test remain for any vehicle of any age for my peace of mind and the safety other road users. But, I would happily not pay for RFL, every time I go down a pot hole or get the wheels stuck in the rut where there has been a temporary patch I do wonder what my money has gone towards !!

I'm working with a chap at the moment who is from Pakistan, very very nice chap, excellent English. Rides a CBR600 here but at home he has a 750 K2, 300k on the original engine and he carries the entire family on it .....that's 7 including him !!! I'm also working with a Surgeon from Glasgow, I can't understand a single word he says but have deciphered he rides an Aprilla. Luckily, I have no language problems with my patients as they are all Anaesthetised by the time they get to me

Looks like it's too good to break. Well, unless that clip is present of course, then it's get the spanners out.
Julie - I think you're beginning to reap the dividend of the ratio being highly in your favour on this site...
I should hope so too, there needs to be some benefits to putting up with you lovely lot !!!. I can't read French at all, I'm useless at languages, well except some Latin and Greek which I have to use in my job every day, Medical terms etc. But, if the clip your on about is the Clutch Cable Guide, my bike has go it on AND it's the original. (Its about the only bit that is original I think)

Thanks Bryan, that would be really helpful. The last time I had a 400/4 was in 1978 and it was under manufacturers warranty so never had to do anything to it. I will PM you with details. Thanks again
