Other Bikes / Lexmoto
« on: July 13, 2020, 08:46:05 PM »
Talking about the 10 bikes my mates got in his lockup, he was given a dead Lexmoto 125.  He's now given it me as a first bike for my son to ride to college, once he's done the CBT.
Needs a lockset,  throttle cable,  battery,  grips, mirrors, plus anything else that shows up.  Not bad for £0.00 though

Recommended Sources for Parts and Services / Replacement key
« on: June 26, 2020, 10:30:43 AM »
Having bought a GPZ500S without a key, I looked into getting one cut.  By removing the top yoke to find the number stamped on the bottom of the ignition lock, I was able to get a key made.
I used a company called key2code, who sent me a key in about 3 days.
Now I've gone to the bother of getting one cut, my mate (previous owner) will find the original.

Other Bikes / The dark side
« on: June 14, 2020, 09:25:44 AM »
I've always owned Hondas, with the occasional Suzuki.  Now I've gone to the dark side and got a Kawasaki.  Does that make me a hooligan?
I was sitting on my mate's patio, social distancing, even bought a flask of coffee with me.  His back yard, various sheds and garage are like something from Steptoe and son.  I noticed the tarpaulin had come off a  bike with the wind.  A Kawasaki GPZ500S.  Sounds good.  Only wants £500 for it.  So I tarted up the VT250 and sold it for £800.
I looked at it yesterday and the years have been unkind to it.  Needs a lot more fettling than I first thought.
Anyway, it's now mine.  Bought it for £300.

Misc / Open / Headlamp bulb
« on: May 25, 2020, 01:55:51 PM »
There's several listings on Fleabay for headlamp bulbs.  £26.95 for 10.  I'm tempted to buy a pack, I'll have enough to last until I'm 300 years old.

SOHC Singles & Twins / Vt250

That's the last time I've seen my petrol tank in white.  I've just dropped it off round my mate's house, who does vapour blasting.   Once that's done, it's all going black.

Humour / New car
« on: March 24, 2020, 06:38:41 PM »
A Russian factory worker saved his Roubles and could finally afford a new car.  He made his way to the Moskvitch dealer and placed his order.
He was given a delivery date of 8th November in 8 years time.
"Will that be morning or afternoon?" he asked.
"What difference does it make?" said the dealer.
"I've got a plumber coming in the morning.

Humour / Skeleton

House renovators have discovered a skeleton behind a wall in an attic.
The skeleton wore a silver medal around its neck with the inscription
"Dublin Hide and Seek Champion 1823"

Other Bikes / Black Chrome?
« on: February 01, 2020, 08:14:19 PM »
I bought some silencers for the VT from Japan, they're looking a bit rough in places though.  I believe they may be black chrome.  What exactly is black Chrome and can it be re done.
What is the opinion of the experts?

Other Bikes / Weird noise
« on: December 04, 2019, 08:30:47 PM »
My VT has started making an intermittent squeal /graunching noise.  It's engine related,  doesn't happen when rolling downhill with the engine off.  Doesn't seem to be revs related though.  I'm thinking that the water pump is squealing its head off.  What are they like to repair, if it is repairable or not, or should I just buy a replacement.

Other Bikes / Petrol leak
« on: November 05, 2019, 10:03:42 PM »
Quick question;  on the VT, the solid metal pipe that links the two carbs has O rings to seal it.  It's not a great design because there's movement between the carbs until the aluminium airbox is bolted up to the carbs.
Anyway, bloody thing is wasting my petrol.
What's better for sealing it?  Sticks like sh*t or silicon?

Misc / Open / Waterproof
« on: August 15, 2019, 01:37:23 PM »
I bought some waterproof bike trousers on ebay for £30 and found they ain't waterproof.   I find the el cheapo plastic ones keep the rain out better.
Is it me that's not doing something right, like spraying the crotch area with chain grease or have I bought some useless Chinese shite from fcuking Indians.
Just as well there's a few tumble dryers in work.

Humour / Missing
« on: August 13, 2019, 02:59:51 PM »
Husband:
My wife is missing.
She went to rescue people from the flood yesterday and has not come home...

Sergeant at Police Station:
What is her height?

Husband:
I'm not sure. A little over five-feet tall?

Sergeant:
Weight?

Husband:
Don't know. Not slim, not really fat.

Sergeant:
Color of eyes?

Husband:
Sort of brown I think. Never really noticed.

Sergeant:
Color of hair?

Husband:
Changes a couple times a year.
Maybe dark brown now.
I can’t remember.

Sergeant:
What was she wearing?

Husband:
Could have been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don't know exactly.

Sergeant:
What kind of car did she go in?

Husband:
She actually went on my dirt bike...

Sergeant:
What kind of bike was it?

Husband: (sobbing)
