Thanks for the warning. I've never seen that before. I though that the Czech Republic was a lot further South than the UK but a look at the map says that you're roughly on the same latitude as Lands End.  I'll be careful.

I've been lucky enough get a used replacement clock from the UK via Flea Bay.

This time I'm going to try and make up heat reflective covers from cool bags to slip over the clocks when it's parked outside in exceptionally hot weather.

BTW
it's been 38°C in the Czech Republic this summer so far...

I spent some time in the early 90's in Frauenstein in east Germany. 2 meters of snow in the winter and 34c to 38c in the summer. Used to cross the boarder to get fuel at less than a half the price.

Does the glass act as a magnifying glass. That looks pretty severe. Pete Horton would probably fix that for you with some good quality faces.

Seen a few warped ones but never one quite like that bad and if the damaged area is touching the needle it can damage the gauge.
I have a spare used face that quite good if that will help. I would carefully inspect the tachometer face, can't see the heat would have only damaged one and not the other!

thanks for the helpful offer of a replacement face but I've been lucky enough get a used replacement clock from the UK via Flea Bay.


My wife was happy with the damage as I was prevented from exceeding 70MPH in case the needle became stuck on the melted speedo face!

Tacho face seems OK, bike was parked with the steering locked and handle bars on extreme right hand lock with speedo uppermost. Not sure if this was a factor, maybe just the way the sun was hitting it?
