Crickey that sounds like a lot of work for an inexperienced hand might have to give the man a call.

Is it difficult to save the spokes?

Never ends with this bike :)

Hmm that's unfortunate news. By the way Hairy I think you've given me nightmares :)

I have access to a lathe so will try that if I have enough liner, also don't mind rebuilding the wheel myself. If that doesn't work out however where could I find a hub or wheel (which dealers were you referring to Clive)? Does anyone know if I could I put a Disc brake on from another bike?

Thanks again for your help

Hey everyone!

I have been trying to get the back wheel on but if it isn't one thing it was another. I discovered a minor crack in the drum liner. I don't have experience in these things so could someone tell me if it's something to worry about? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting larger? JB Weld maybe?

Cheers

It was sold to me as a 23491-374-000. Apparently the -000 is the original factory designation and other numbers are something else?

Maybe it was for the 550 which does pump oil to the transmission. Anyway guess I'll have some lunch and back to the assembly  :)

Yeah I thought so too. Why would they make one without them? Can I still use it on the cb500?

Hey everyone!

Bit of a puzzle for you; can you spot the difference?

New one on the left. The guy I bought it from assures me it was from a honda dealer. Could the lack of holes be a defect, and what if anything should I do about it?

Hmm this tranny is full of good news.

In that case would you mind seeing if you have a better looking one to go along with a fork.

Many thanks

Well I got the gear today. Seems to mesh pretty well.

I had another look at the gear the fork sat on and it seems to have left some metal on the sides and the surface seems polished.

Is this one crodged as well?

Damn those look tempting but I really can't afford it at the moment. Maybe on the next rebuild. Cheers for the resource though.

I just ordered a NOS one. Are you saying I have to order the other one too because they need to wear in together?

Haha I tend to agree yeah. I did see it before but was focused on other things. Good thing I didn't put it back in. Any idea what might have caused such damage. Seems excessive for a 22000 engine

If you do have one how much would you want for it? and would you also happen to have a counter top gear as well?

Cheers
