The strainers are £22 plus postage from DS - they were not listed when I cleaned mine probably a couple of years ago.
No, I haven't answered the question about the seals as I can't remember ☺️☺️. I also have the strainers in stock if yours doesn't clean up OK or is knackered.

Yes, the strainer mesh is detachable and as you say the mesh has a plastic edge around it. It just pulls off of the funnel.

That unit may not fit in the 550F2 as they have a shallow headlamp bowl as all the wire junctions go back to a box under the tank instead of joining in the headlight, so it'll all be down to the depth of the LED unit.

Looks lovely John. We're out pottering tomorrow around the Wolds on the CD250u's, we've been using the other bikes a lot recently, so it'll be nice to have a pootle around on them for a change.

This what a google search reveals for an auction price rather than a Classified listing.

The fee for adding a reserve price to an eBay auction listing for a motorcycle is 4% of the reserve price, up to a maximum of £150 per item. This fee is charged regardless of whether the item sells.

So going the classified advert route that Julie shows would there be a listing fee plus final value fee to pay?
No, a classified listing fee of £20 is the total amount of charges regardless of whether the bike sells or not and the listing lasts 30 days. If the bike doesn't sell in those 30 days, you've lost £20.00.

For vehicles, ebay Classified is £20 regardless of the sale price.
Fixed price listings cost £14.99 plus a final value fee of £25 or 1% of the sale price, capped at £45.00

Cracking few hours out at Cadwell Park today. They had a classic bike track day, glorious weather for it. You can't see much in my photo but you get the gist.
This weekend it's the British Historic Motorcycle Championship, it should be a good weekend.

Maybe we should credit the chap that now owns the letter, it is William Moss.

I know the bulletin about battery vents dropping acid on chains is in one of Ash's places Julie but that is the first time i have seen the letter, i think i will print it and put it in the bulletin folder i have as long as its ok by you
It's fine with me Bryan and the chap that recently obtained the letter along with the original envelope and the bike, has shared it with a FB group. I just thought it's a bit of history that may be of interest to our group

To this day Mark Paris is still insisting screw in for more air, screw out for more fuel. Anectodal and personal experience on 750's and all other non PD SOHC /4 carbs, is that out gives more air, in gives more fuel. If we had set the screws on our own builds and bikes as per Marks advice, the bikes wouldn't have run. Regular riding of all our bikes by ourselves and all our customers bikes, prove we have done it correctly.

I got Hettie up to 95, that was after the engine rebuild and the engine was fully run in. But, I agree, they aren't long distance cruising bikes (the hard seat is a killer on long distances for a start) , they are at their best on twisty roads, using high revs and being ridden like you stole it. That is when they are very, very happy and run at their best, they just love it.

400/4's don't do any type of incline in 6th gear. Sounds like you just need to change down a gear. 6th really is only for cruising on motorways and even then, they aren't really happy if you need a bit more speed to overtake something. They are bikes that run at their best being ridden at high revs and never under load.
