Found this and thought it worth posting

That's brilliant Bryan but so very close to the truth! I remember telling our students years ago that transistors (those lovely little 3 legged fuses) worked on smoke and as long as the smoke stayed inside, they worked fine. However, if the smoke came outside, they stopped working. One hopeful tried to make a machine to put the smoke back into the transistors - he never became rich!

Didn’t there regulators have the letters FADE stamped on them?

This is great! I often wondered how many amps it would take to blow the nail! 🤣 I remember in my smoking days (long time ago) the silver paper in the back of the fag packet came in very handy for fuse wrapping.🫣 who hasn’t?

Must send this to my brother who drives a Lucas dependant TR6! ;D

Happy memories of my BSA days, riding down country lanes at night with no lights, foot gently on the back brake in the hope that the car behind will see the brake light.

If the rear light blows you can try pulling the switch out of it's housing so the rear brake light stays on, saves the brakes . Used to do it all the time back in the day.
