Just finished restoring a CB750 Sandcast Seat (using Yamiya red foam and seat cover) and thought I’d share a few pics.
Essentially at that remains of the original seat is the restored seat base and hinges / latch.
The Yamiya kit is superb - but bloody expensive.
But, like everything I guess you have to pay top whack for top quality.
The fitting took me 3-4 hours (test fitting, measure twice, cut once etc..) but I’m pretty chuffed with the finished results..
I would say this is well within the capabilities of pretty much anyone - just requires patience, thought and the right approach.

Fantastic job there James and it looks so comfy (compared to a CB400/4 seat 😭😭😭)

Great job James....somehow it manages to look new, but old at the same time..

Comfy was also my first thought looking at the finished article.

Very nice job you've doen there James!
I'll being doing my K1 seat if I can't get the very slight tear on the seam plastic welded, so it's good to see what's possible for the home DIY'er.
Cheers

Try a product called seam grip..Very affective..
Used to repair tears in tents and awnings.....well almost anything...
Very good for seat vinyl and will span a gap and hold..
Only about a tenner a tube
It takes 24 hours to cure but worth the wait as it's solid and transparent

Great job James - love those K0 seats

Cool.
Hope it does the job.
Have a small trial run on something it's quite tacky but because it takes so long to cure you can clean it up ..so no need to rush..

Your not kidding about the cost James, but certainly looks good.
