A £600 speedo with built-in satnav...

Is it sandcast?

... not even waterproof.

 ;)

Do it properly and get one of these with the m-unit. Awesome kit....

In fact I'm sorely tempted to put some modern twist stuff like this on my cr750 bike when I finally get round to starting the build. Appreciate it will cause a few people to turn their noses up, buy I'm building it for me, not as a perfect facsimile of the cr bikes from the 70's...

Shock horror no single cut mudguard
Come to think of it it's now more k2 than k1

James, some of the early Jap bikes had speedo and revs in a combined unit so it wouldn't be so at odds with period stuff if it looked like those.

No if I do it then it'll be very modern. Somehow will need to strike a balance between a nod to the old and embracing the new.....could be interesting

I know what you mean James about mixing old and new. I like the originals and good restos but sometimes you see a really good interpretation that just really makes it.

I saw recently one the other way round, a modern triumph bonneville but it had a tank-seat unit like one of the Hurricane tridents of the 70's. The unit was layed up in bare carbon with the tank panels in maroon and clear coated over all of it, matching front mudguard as well. it was really well made and justed looked so good but still really subtle.
