Title: Honda CB350 Four chassis / Engine numbers
Post by: mart on March 11, 2018, 07:55:18 PM
I have a 1973 CB350 Four the Chassis number is CB350F ****899 and the Engine number is CB350E ****892 as you can see the Engine number is slightly lower than the Chassis. I know Honda numbers do not match but is engine numbers lower than the chassis a normal thing..

Both my 750's have the engine number about 100 higher
I think the 550 is miles out but can't get close enough to see them

My 550 K0, the engine is 58 digits higher than the frame.

Probably because Honda used to randomly select finished engines from the production line to test, usually to destruction! Odds are that the further into production your bike is, the greater the difference in the frame and engine numbers.
