I had the same thing on my old CB250N Superscream I noticed it felt funny putting my bike on it's centre stand today and the legs where at different angles when I looked. An inspection showed a crack in the right leg. Anyone had this issue before? Looking at the price of a second hand one, does it justify if it's really possible taking it off and getting it welded?

With colder weather closing in I might have known better. My bike lives outside and for a couple of nights I neglected to put a cover over her. The other morning I noticed after about an hours ride that there was fluid in my tail light lens....on closer inspection I feel I could have transported a goldfish in it! I'm surprised the light still worked after I drained it. Reminded me of he time I found about half a pint in my Z400J's airbox. What to do and look out for...is drilling a drain hole in the lens a good idea and are there any vulnerable places elsewhere on a CB400F with this sort of thing?

Discussing an oil leak on CB400F2 with someone oop Blackheath today and I revved the engine up to the red line a few times in neutral, which I hardly ever do. It produced grey smoke so it must be burning some oil off, but I can't say anything actually sounds bad...your thoughts?

 Back in the 1970s I asked my father (RIP) if he ever rode motorcycles, an embarrassed grin split his face. He was still a soldier at the time I asked, and had been when he tried to learn to ride so as to be a military dispatch rider back in the 1950s. Alas, he wrote off two 'Beezers' by skidding into the same Mile Stone on the same corner TWICE. They told him they had no more bikes left....not for him anyway. What did they say about lightning?

Most days I ride about half a mile on a cobbled road in ye olde Wapping, east London....there is always a strange rattle coming from the lower front end, which I think is the brake caliper but I'm not sure, there's nothing I can find amiss (now) with them, is this normal, could it be something else?

I have an Oxford Monster lock & Chain, but lately the key is sometimes really difficult to turn and I get worried it might snap in there, it'll be the hell of a job on my hands. I've tried WD40 and oil but they don't help much. Said lock and chain is to meet an insurance requirement, it's only 15 months old, I don't want to be buying new ones yet....any suggestions?

Was this item originally separate from the sprocket? I've looked out for one for more than a year and suddenly they turn up at DSS as part of a sprocket but at a sky high price. Are they worth having for more reason than classic looks?

I've just fitted a new caliper housing and metal pipe, now I can't adjust the clearance for the fixed pad. After I fitted the caliper housing the brake was too tight for the wheel to be spun and of course I get the feeler gauge for 0.15mm but discover I just can't make it happen. Slackened the two bolts that hold the housings together and achieve it like that, tighten them and I'm back to square one. It's not as if I haven't done this job before, I can't think what the hell is wrong.

Is the metal pipe from the lower brake hose to caliper longer on the earlier models than the F2 model? I received one from breaker known on here today, it was longer and a different shape to the one being replaced.

Literally. When putting the brake caliper back together I noticed I was screwing the bolt that holds the metal end of the brake hose in at an angle. I took it back out but found that the thread was stripped inside the caliper. Can this be retapped or am I looking for a new unit?
