Post by: sim2011 on May 05, 2010, 08:52:56 PM
Just stripped down my K3 carbs only to find that some idiot has broken one of the mounting posts for the carb float pin , if anyone has a sscrap set or one body I woul be willing to purchase them , or any one else got any other ideas how to fix this problem.
Thanks

A long time ago (1970 plonk) I had the same thing, in my ignorance I fixed it with Araldite and it worked fine, I'm sure that there must be something better out there now.

Cheers

Den

JB Weld could be an option. I think I'd try to bend a thin strip of metal over the post then drill and pin/screw through it.

Which carb is it (number 1, 2, 3, or 4). Also, what is the carb number (should be at the front top of the carb boby flange).
I do have a dismantled carb set being used for spares (same problem as yours on one of the bodies). Let me know and I'll see if I have the one you need.
