Two of the bikes are not that significant .. will just colour scan the titles and use them to register. The third is my 3/71 500K0 so will go to HOC for dating cert on that one. Find VJMC expensive as non member and very picky.

DVLA will not accept scans, photocopies of anything.

DVLA still want a dating certificate. If you send the original title you won’t get it back.

CB350/400 / Re: Really bad cold starting. Ign or fuel?
« on: February 22, 2023, 10:24:02 PM »
My 1980 650 is an absolute bitch to start when cold but once warmed up is perfect.

I found a way to get it to start first time every time no matter how cold it was and it sits there and idles perfectly.

Choke on full, kill switch off. Throttle open fully, turn over engine a couple of times.
Close throttle, kill switch on, press start button and it fires first time and idles perfectly.

Don’t know if this is the proper way to start it but works for me.

Anyone know if there are any performance differences on the Honda Police bikes?

Reason I ask is I’ve just picked up a spare engine for my 650, the engine number starts RG01 instead of the usual RC03. A bit of searching on the internet shows it’s a Police engine.

Wondering why Honda would use a different engine code if the Police engines were the same as the standard ones. The engine looks identical to my standard one.

How about this for foam, I bought one this morning. The middle of it is black and looks very similar to what you’re after.

My 550 K0 had a 4 into 2 fitted. I can dig it out of the shed and see if it’s got a manufacturer name on it if you want.

It was on the bike when I got it.

I had a key like that on my 550K3.
It fitted my Mk2 Escort too (not much didn’t to be honest).

The worse car I ever had for security was my TVR S2. The electric window switches were on the dash and still powered even when the ignition was off and the car was locked.
You could lift a tiny bit of the soft top where it met the door, poke a bamboo cane in and press the down on the switch.

Crap car, terrible build quality, let in the same amount of water with the roof up as down, crap electrics and overheated when it wanted to.

I've also got that key number Steve. I was hoping you were going to say it was surplus but no such luck.

I can nick your bike now Steve but you can't nick mine as it has 2 ignition locks fitted  ;D ;D ;D ;D

You don’t know my address  ;)
Anyway garage has the wife’s car up against the doors.

I got some grey sleeving from RS Components when I made a new wiring loom for my Lambretta, they do heat shrink in grey as well to match.
