Trigger I had noticed the rear end was rather hard even on the lowest setting but it’s nothing that you wouldn’t dial in with a set of after market set of shocks (Koni etc) to improve over standard 70s Honda anyway.

I was thinking sort wheel base  ::) Does your have a std rear sprocket and how many links is your chain ?
Yes trigger standard rear sprocket and I just put the chain on as I came from DS which when adjusted brings it half way up on the adjustment scale, I was waiting for a bit of stretch to take a link or 2 out.

That answers a question I had in mind about the swing arm on my 500 frame, it’s a 750 one. It don’t half sharpen up the handling.

CB500/550 / Front wheel binding on left lock!
« on: October 19, 2019, 09:21:54 AM »
Hi, I’m sorting the bike for sale and have a problem with the front wheel binding when on left hand lock.ihave twin disks fitted and have even reversed callipers (gentleman’s bike style) and still it binds also fitted new wheel bearings just to eliminate that from the equation. This does not happen on right lock and rolls freely going forward or back. Any and all I put appreciated.

I fitted Boyer to mine and it ran bad I took it to D&M engineering it turn out after hours of fault finding the box was faulty they put a Dave silver unit on all problems solved. Turns out that I wasn’t the first one with this issue with the Boyer system.

Misc / Open / Taxing bike
« on: July 05, 2019, 10:30:51 AM »
Hi, just got V11Z to tax the bike at the end of the month, so just to see what happens I went on DVLA to give it a try and low and behold DONE it no hassle it even starts from the 1st of aug.
Wonders will never cease, here’s me expecting no end of hurdles but not to be.

I have a 500 frame with 550 motor updated too 600 fork springs updated triple disks etc etc and with modern rubber goes like stink handles like it’s on rails and brings a smile to my big ugly mug. It’s far from concours but I wanted a bike I could relive my 70s memories on and it does it in bucket loads. I would say go for what you want not what other people perceive you should do or have..
