RST battery powered heated gloves, I got mine on eBay for £99 last pair but no doubt they'll get more, 2hours at full power, 4hour at medium, longer at min , nothing to wire in , no more cold fingers on that fresh winter morning ride, what's not to like, I'm out with them now, on min setting, they are very warm, it's 12 degrees ambient not exactly cold but after 20 miles my fingers are warm, they would've been cool by now .

Great aren't they. Wish I had them when I was despatch riding years ago.

Heated gloves, what is the world coming too ? I was a long distance dispatch rider for many years, in all weather. One pair under the tank (nicely heated by the engine) and change them over every hour.

We're all wusses Trigger, but comfy wusses 😄

Bloody hell trig, couldn't afford two pairs of gloves

Ha!
My last Arai went through the company as "Personal Protective Equipment"

I'm out with them now
I'm impressed that you can still type with them on!
They do sound good though, I remember coming back from the Dragon Rally with numb blue fingers, though Triumph twin vibration may have had something to do with it. We used to abuse the hand driers at service stations by putting our gloves over the nozzle, or putting them in the space above the gearbox, behind the barrels when we stopped for the inevitable ciggy break.
I wonder what the 'best thing since' was before sliced bread was invented.

Sliced bread 1928 so my vote is for the rubber condom in 1855 :-[ :-[ ... can I get some work done now ;D

I can't imagine Victorian people saying to each other, in polite company - "I say old chap, that's the best thing since the rubber condom"

Do you remember the ad with the old boy and 'Geronimo'?
'It was like having a bath with your socks on!'

Oh I do love the Friday afternoon banter, are any of us doing any work?

I need to change the title to "best thing since toasted bread!", I just got a burnt finger after ten mins riding at medium setting!, taking the gloves off (quickly 😄) a hot spot can be felt even on the outside of the glove and it corresponds with the affected area on my finger, nothing bad just a reddened area of skin, anyway I've emailed the seller for resolution failing that it's RST, thought I'd better mention it after singing their praises so highly.
-
Apologies for being an ignoramus and a Luddite (I've been honing these skills for years ....) but what is RST?
Really Sore Thumb fits in the context but I don't think it's that :) :)

Some time ago I worked for a company that supplied to a high street chain, we had to comply with stringent technical parameters and while visiting their test labs was shown a machine for the testing of condoms!
Didn't see any electric gloves being verified though ;)
-
Way of the world I suppose, all the desirable jobs now being done by machines 😔
