This looks like a well restored 400 four. Up to £6,100 already.

Looks nice.

This looks like an excerpt from my coil refurb write-up.  ;D

"Ignition coils stripped and fitted with new HT leads and recast in high dielectric strength epoxy resin".

Watching this tonight ..Lot 53

Identical to the one I had in 1978/79. Lovely bike, just lacked guts. Traded it for a GS550E then Darmah SS....which was sh@£e. Would love that little red Honda though.

It was offered on a FB site by the seller a couple of days ago at £7k

No takers at 7k then. I guess that's the reserve.

Y'know, call me 'picky', but,  being advertised as a full restoration and the sort of money that's being asked, I think I would be tempted to query a couple of bits. The plastic loop for the speedo cable on the mudguard is old and split, cheesehead screws holding the headlamp to shell!!  The gear lever should be a spline or two frontwards or upward changes are going to be a bit iffy, and my goodness, those rear shocks don't do it any favours. Hope more care was taken with the internal bits that we can't see!
Still a nice looking bike though, but £7K plus, I don't know.

If I had replaced the flanged chrome handlebar bolts I would have either bought new ones or failing that, used stainless and machined and polished the heads to remove raised A2 and makers name.
I still think this is worth £7k, just needs a tiny bit of finishing.

Just to add to the list compiled by Tricky Micky the trip grommet is missing.

To be fair to the guy, if that's all we can find wrong it's a pretty good job.

Agree,  if you make a loose comparison of description against noted details from the posts on here, then think the same regarding internal details compared to Julie's rebuild thread,  it makes you wonder about their view of restoration.

The bidding on this appears to have stalled at it's real value. Looks like he may be in for a financial loss.

Watch the auction at the last 2 or 3 minutes, that's when it normally all happens.

I was watching one on ebay that finished yesterday evening. UK F2 in Antares, 1,450 miles from New. Having looked at the photos close up, it was 100% original. Bidding only got to 5k, the owner had a reserve of £7500 on it.

Sold at £6,900. Quite a few for sale at the moment, the ideal time of year to sell a any bike I guess.

Does anyone want to buy my red 1999 VFR800, lovely cam gear drive, 23k (I think) miles? I've just put a new rear tyre on it, it's not even scrubbed in, 1 mile on it! £2,200. Reason for selling, I'd like to buy a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, its smaller and lighter. I'm still keeping my SOHC's though  ;D
I thought it worth asking in case anyone is in a buying mood ::)

I had a feeling the bike would sell. Needed a bit of finishing but not much. If you were to restore one yourself these days it would cost nearly that.
