The flexible joints( i believe they are called Rose joints in UK) on my 400 four have some play in them. I can only find complete replacement of the whole gearchange lever assembly online but this is a bit extreme when only one joint needs replacing.
Has anyone done this, if so any tips and where did you get joint?
Many Thanks

Hi Saltydog.
The gear change lever on my 400/4 also has play on the joints (there needs to be some play or the joints wouldn't articulate) It has never caused me any concerns or issues with gear change though so I've just left it alone.

I have a little Yamaha twin that had lots of wear in the gear change linkage.
I got a rose joint from Ebay to upgrade (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210209/45d3a1fdede4c0de8bee0134b70f8f4f.jpg)

They are called Heim joints.

Also used as track-rod ends in Kart Racing:

Barleycorn Engineering make them and he's a very decent chap, always at Kempton Park Autojumble and very helpful, does all his own machining.
