Just started stripping down to get engine out, the bottom front engine bolt is sized solid, have applied heat and copious amounts of WD40 but still not moving, is it best to drill head off and pull through or other options? am frightened i might crack the crankcase lugs

I think drilling is the best option, I too would be dubious about applying too much force. As your not drilling into a threaded area, you have a little leeway if you are not spot on with your drilling. Drill it out gradually taking the drill size up gradually. The good thing is that you have the engine in the frame which gives a good jig/weight to apply the drill pressure.

Thanks for the advice, will attempt to remove tomorrow and try and pull out once I have drilled the head off.

If you are any good with a angle grinder, just grind the head off.

Head sheared off leaving it firmly stuck in engine cases, drilled threaded side out. Engine now out of frame so I can carefully drill remnant of bolt out of the two lugs. Only to be expected on a 45 year old UK machine that was used in all weathers, majority of machine OK due to father in law using copious amounts of chain lube on everthing.

PS forgot to say that it is been restored as a sidecar bike with leading links fitted as it was fitted from new with a sidecar
