Fork oil is revolting. At least there was some in there!

All the best Bryan. This forum is a great place to offload when that's what you need. A very tough year for you and your family so I hope and I hope things look up as the summer progresses.

Colour wiring diagrams online - red/green looks like the neutral indicator. Is the other red/white? Harder to spot but maybe the indicator /flasher unit.

I think that's a good idea. Rolling restoration on bits and pieces in the winter and enjoy riding in the summer.

I toured a bit of Scotland a few years ago...the midges were horrendous until we camped on Skye when a stiff breeze kept the little blighters at bay - I haven't ever enjoyed a coastal breeze so much!

Did you ever find a tourer? I was idly surfing and saw TBR Motorcycles in Notts have both a VFR800 and a Sprint, both with hard luggage. Might be one you could compare if not too far away ( but aren't you in Somerset..!).. (Nb they advertise a Hornet for 2.5k but it's about 1.3k on eBay, so could have flexibility on pricing.

It's very nice, although my pet hate is a wonky numberplate, and the screws on it are also at different levels... ( and the screws heads aren't all aligned the same ..ie parallel to the ground!).
I see loads of expensive cars in the road where the number plate is screwed on but isn't horizontal - would you pay serious money and then know that that the garage couldn't be bothered to fit the number plate correctly?! 11

Why doesn't the brake lever have a protector but the clutch lever does? Do more riders fall on the left hand side,?!

Is it feasible to drill a few small holes in them to give the remaining rubber a bit of space to flex into when you try to press them out?

My early zx6r has that. The air makes an incredible noise as it comes in...a bit like a tupperware box full of gravel being shaken. I'm sure it does more than just make a nice noise though?!
