Seen it on TV before, last time I was recovered on the roadside was when a customers Smart Car suddenly stopped when I was bringing it in to the MB dealership for a routine service - luckily on a B road in Leicestershire a few miles from the M1. Mondial (MB Recovery service) sent an AA Van that when it turned up opened the rear doors -  it was like a Transformer Toy when it part opened by remote control then various parts were added with lock pins etc. It took about 20 minutes in total to Ambulance the Smart car into position.

A nice bit of kit.

I'm not sure I would want to be on the bike on a slippery road as the weight of the car is going to do some pushing.

I believe they are designed so that the recovery motorcycle can cut through the traffic and tow the vehicle to the nearest junction so its mainly straight line short distance work.

That would make sense.
