Title: F1 Electrics on a K1?
Post by: Arch stanton on May 13, 2018, 07:10:17 AM
Hello.
I am doing a 750k1 project. And have quite a lot of 750F1 parts to hand.
My question is..
Can the F1 harness & switches be made to work on the K1?
Sean.

In short, yes, BUT it would mean a bit of messing about for the ign switch wiring, as the K1 had it mounted under the fuel tank and the F1 had it on top yoke, if you could find an F1 top yoke you could use the F1 ign switch.

I would really like to use the bar clamp/dash. As I always thought they looked great.
So I suppose I could make up a ignition switch extension harness.
Or if what Julie suggested works. I could just buy a new K1 harness from Z1 parts.
Thank you for your prompt response.
Sean.

You will also need somewhere for all the wire connectors to go, K1 in the head light F1's head light bowl is too small for the job  ;)

It is possible to do, but would require a lot of 'cutting & piecing' of the loom. All the CB750 (K0 to F2) looms are based on the original harness and then added to as the bike developed. As Trigger mentioned, the start of the adjustment would be at the head/shell then work your way down the loom

In answer to my own question No!
Far too much farting about.
Bought the correct switches. Job done.
