Was trying to start my cb350f tonight but would not start. As the battery seemed to be struggling I lifted the seat up to check the battery and whilst the seat was in the open position I tried starting her up and the engine fired straight away.
With the layout of the air filter housing, been under the seat would that extra air intake help to start the bike.
Can the airflow be increased whilst the seat is in the locked position.
The bike was last started about a week ago with fresh petrol in the tank.

Sounds to me like a poor electrical connection that has been disturbed by the seat being moved.

Could be electrical or even crap fuel my Guzzi started last week but not yesterday when I actually wanted to use it.
Fresh fuel and it fired instantly.

If the bike starts with the seat up then it could be the air inlet is blocked!
I had this on my one after replacing the seat and ignoring the 2 rubber bungs were shot or of different sizes.
A workaround to prove it is to leave the top off the air-filter box- thats how I was on the right track with mine- something simple took me ages to find- i even replaced the bank of carbs!
