A few weeks ago I was at the first meeting of a Motorhome Club Motorcycle group and on the ride out met a elderly chap from South Wales. He asked if mine was a F1 as he had bought one new and had it put into a Seeley frame along with Lester wheels. He still had the original F1 wheels that he had put in his loft over 40 years ago. Today I met him at Ferrybrige Services on his way to Scotland and bought them. Amazing at times what turns up unexpectedly. The front wheel is equally as good. It will now be getting a change of wheels. [attach=1] [attach=2] [attach=3]

I didn't know those bike carriers could take that kind of weight

Like the bike rack - I plan to get a motorhome in a few years time when I retire (if I make it!) - so I'll pick your brains for the design then

The rack is a good bit of kit. Its hydraulic so there is no pushing the bikes up ramps. I have made alterations to it to make it easier to fit larger bikes and to be honest they are rated at 200kg, but I have chopped and altered and up rated parts I thought that needed it. Normally I carry a Honda ANF125. The 750 is no problem though and sits there fine.

I don't see why not. They are not bad at all to look at and I replaced the bearings in both last year just before Crich Tramway Show, but the inner rim leaves a little to be desired. When I get around to changing them I will put some pics up and will be open to offers if anyone is interested in them.

Where did you get the hydraulic lift from? I assume you made the bike holder yourself

Great bit of work on the bike lift. Can't see any locking pin, just in case the bottle jack gives up ;) I see two now ;D

Once apon a time.
I got a tip off regarding the parts left over from a Seeley built F1.
The guy sent Seeley a new F1 still in the crate.
They sent him a bike + the surplus parts. Which I bought for
£100.
Unfortunately the frame had to be Q regularly but...

There seems to be a little interest in my set up. It is a Easylifter http://www.easylifter.co.uk/Hydraulic-Scooter-&-Bike-Rack.htm I bought used of Ebay. As with most things its not until you start using something you then you think that bit could be better. On the lifter pic with the Kawasaki on before I added 3" into the platform the engine cases were touching the lifting post, or the 125s footrest rubber wore through the end on the post. I also added 6" to the length of the frame bed and extended the aluminium platform the same The bottom pivot bushes were Sintered Oilite bushes and were starting to break up so I made some a little more substantial.

The front wheel chock is another Ebay item £30. I don't think I could have made it for that amount and it works well. Again I have modified it a little for my particular application but nothing anyone with a saw and drill couldn't do. Just to make it easier to alter for different wheel sizes.

There is one spring loaded locking pin just above the jack in case of jack failure. I have also drilled through the box and tapped the other box so I can bolt it up solid. It is decent section box and will hold a thread ok until I get round to welding a nut in. :) The bottom hand wheel you can see is to aid assembly and take some of the sideways wag out of it. I also put on the bottom ratchet straps to stop it wagging.
On the van I have removed the rear suspension bump stops and replaced them with Air assister bags which has improved things greatly
I was considering the Hydra Trail until I had a good look at one and I do not like the way it is designed and works.

I made a rack for the back of my motorhome for my CB77 sprinter for trips to IOM, not hydraulic though I just use a ramp, but a LOT lighter bike.

I love your over engineering with a couple of cable ties ::) You do some nice welding ;)

You can never have too many ties . :) The welding should be ok the amount I've done over the years . I've seen better but far more worse. ;)

What a nob. Changed everything over onto the new wheels. Put them in and finished off and then noticed I hadn't put the rear hub to sprocket carrier D ring in. Tomorrows another day, back out it comes. :)
