Hello.
After reading comments on here regarding the weaknesses in the Cb750k charging system regarding headlight build wattages.
I'm wondering if there is any difference in output between the early K models & the F models?
I ask this because I used to use 100w/65w H4 bulbs in my old F1 without any charging problems. I did a lot of night riding at that time as the bike was my only transport.
Your comments would be appreciated.
Sean.

The only different(higher output) generator is on the 750 auto

I wonder why the Auto needed different genny.
Did they have a larger output?
Was it the same fitment as the others?
Would fitting the Auto genny to the other models be a worthwhile upgrade?

The field coil in the CB750K is rated at 190watt (less 19w running) net power 171watt. As the CB750A f/coil is rated at 250watt (less 40w running) net power 210watts.
They are interchangeable, not sure why Honda fitted a higher wattage coil in the CB750A...increased battery size?

Increased battery size and no kickstart backup.

They DO have a kickstart, but it lives under the seat.

Probably doesn't rev so freely either being automatic...
So doesn't get the higher voltages so often....Just a thought

I stand corrected then, and doffs his hat to the gent in the corner.
