Title: Tyre recommendations
Post by: joeleeman on June 25, 2012, 08:15:22 PM
I've just had some wheels built for my road going cr750 project. I've used a 1.85 x 18 at the front and 2.15 x18 at the rear just wondering if anyone can recomend a good tyre and tyre sizes for both. Any help much appreciated

On my standard K1, I have a pair of Continentals at 100/90 x 19 front and 120/90 x 18 rear. I am sure you could get something stickier than these in that sort of size.
Avon do some classic race tyres from that sort of time. Are you looking for road tyres or race?

i think dunlop TT100's  ,would be a good choice for a CR750 nice classic tread pattern,(they where the first tyres too lap the isle of man at over one hundred miles an hour) i have used them on my CB750 no problems but they are getting a bit pricey now, fronts last forever i think i had about four thousand out of the rear, unless you prefer something with a more modern tread pattern like sports bike tyres

I like the Avon classic race tyres. They are what I've been looking at but I can check out the dunlops too. So going for the standard tyre sizes apart from rim size on the front should be fine?
