Rims are FRONT 1.85 X 19, and REAR 2.15 X 18 And as you're probaly going to ask Tyre sizes at some point, standard was 3.25 X 19 front and 4.00 X 18 rear. Personal experience has shown that 100/90 X 19 front and 120/90 X 18 rear give the best handling on one of these bikes, but tyres are always a conjective subject, and others may well disagree with me on that point, but as I said, that is what I have found best in 27 years of riding the same bike ;D

Cheers for the info folks !!!

Apologies for hijacking this thread but -
I'm building a cafe racer on a 78 F2, and I was looking for 110x90x19 and 130x90x18 tyres, anyone got any recommendations for good available rubber at this size and also 100/90 X 19 front and 120/90 X 18?.
Many thanks

For the 100/90X19 and 120/90xX18, I'd recommende Avon Roadriders, good grip in the wet or dry, and reasonable mileage and cost. You might find it a bit tight putting a 130 on the rear, getting it past the caliper :-[

Good point re the 130 width rear, there seems to be limited choice anyway so looks like it will be the Roadriders. Sure I could get a 130 in there but removing the caliper each time I wanted to remove the tyre might become a pain!
