Title: How stuck in the past are you?
Post by: Green1 on May 11, 2015, 11:39:29 PM
My neighbour came up to me today and asked me to keep an eye out for a tiger cub as he used to own one years ago.I asked him how much he was willing to spend when he replied £50 I almost pissed my self.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
I should have expected it as he prides himself on being the only one down our road with the original 60's windows. What he forgets is I'v spliced and patched them so often they resemble Trig's broom.

You could always tell him that it would need to be £50 from the sixties brought up to todays money and then add a lot as well

One of my customers, an old geezer, gave me a 50p tip and said "have a pint on me"
I said "Thanks, I'm short of milk as it happens"

The past isn't that far away for me, but I still am stuck there, I bulk at paying more than £150 for a project bike like my cb500, or more than £500 for one with an mot. My dad is the same - he still expects stuff to cost what it did years ago, his thing is old farm kit and heavy horses and the few bits of remaining kit are probably worth a bit more in scrap then he wants to pay.
