CB750 / Tyre sizes
« on: January 07, 2014, 09:55:40 PM »
Need some help finding some tyres. I'm looking for a good front and rear pair to fit a wm3 and wm4 x 18s. A road tyre preferably but I'm not too sure on sizes or types or anything like that so any help is much appreciated.

CB750 / cb750 project
« on: July 04, 2013, 06:35:55 PM »
I thought i'd put a project thread up of my 750 if anyones really interested
it started life in two boxes and a rolling frame i got it for free so couldn't complain. got it to this point to check it ran ok

Turned out cam was 90 degrees out had no slow circuit on the carbs either so with no rhyme or reason or any direction to go in i kind of just did the easy project things that happen quick.
carbs cleaned before and after

had my hubs polished and laced to 18" flanged ally rims with stainless spokes wm3 front and wm4 rear

and sorted my double disc conversion at the same time to retain a speedo drive

after this i still didnt really have much of a bike so i decided to take a direction with it, frame mods to rolling chassis etc so it becomes more of the bike im aiming for rather than a pile of shiny parts i cant do anything with.
so i ordered my fuel and oil tank from bartell in northern ireland and was told to wait 40 weeks from may 12, arrived early just before xmas so i started to mount them

tanks as arrived

basic mount made

tried to mount the seat wasnt right though as slightly longer so i acquired an earlier frame and have been using that now to
get to my current point

So once a reg is assigned will they allow me to change the insurance over for a full year?

So the case would be a dating letter from honda, mot and insure on frame number when complete then down to the local Dvla office for fingers crossed an age related plate and v5?

Also if following the insure and mot on the frame number and the certificate from honda if its a cb750 race type replica will this make a difference?

Will it being built from mostly new parts make a difference?

I've heard with an age related plate the bike has to be made from original parts. I think the only original parts are the frame and engine casings

Probably a question that has been covered a million times but is there any way that anyone can help me to retrieve a reg number from a frame number alone? Any help appreciated

CB750 / Re: Swing arm differences

Are they longer at all? As k7 had longer wheel base. I'm mainly concerned about  my wheels fitting an earlier swing arm as they're already been built

CB750 / Swing arm differences
« on: April 28, 2013, 12:49:08 PM »
I've just picked up an earlier frame for my cr750 project. I have the k7 swing arm from my original frame which physically fits but fouls the passenger pegs. (Being cut off anyway) are there any length differences between the earlier and late ones? Or width?

Well that's good to hear. Time to search for a frame then

Another quick question on the frames. Interchangeability. Now will my engine and front and rear ends from my k7 fit an earlier frame?

CB750 / Cost of a frame and logbook
« on: January 15, 2013, 08:44:08 PM »
Past few months have slowly been building a cb750 race type replica and I'm using a k7 frame. I was thinking of trying an earlier shorter frame before welding all my brackets on an I was just wondering how much I'd be looking at for an earlier frame with v5. Just to save me getting ripped of thought I'd ask some people who know
Thanks for looking, Joe

I like the Avon classic race tyres. They are what I've been looking at but I can check out the dunlops too. So going for the standard tyre sizes apart from rim size on the front should be fine?
