CB750 / CB750F tail light
« on: June 03, 2012, 06:04:18 PM »
Looking for a tail light for a 1977 CB750F Supersport but the ones I've seen so far are unlike this one.  They are either mounted by two screws or else 4 screws near the centre.  The one I have is mounted by 4 screws very near the corners and it has the following code: STANLEY RR501 SAEA 71   1ATPE181    1 E 11 3246   AU40L1A   JAPAN  R-169

Any help, better so with part number, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Joseph

CB750 / Wanted: CB750 K7 piston (STD)
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:04:28 PM »
I'm looking for one standard CB750 K7 piston for engine CB750E-300XXXX (marked 392 near gudgeon pin, and measuring approximately 60.9mm at bottom of skirt).  I would appreciate any help in locating one, preferably new (long shot, since these seem to be discontinued) or else good used.  Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Joseph

CB750 / CB750 F2 cylinder head differences
« on: December 06, 2011, 06:38:13 PM »
Are there any external differences between a CB750 F1 and F2 cylinder head, apart from the black paint and different carburettors, which make identification possible with the assembled engine still in the bike?  I am quite wary of the bad reputation of the F2 head regarding the accelerated exhaust valve guide wear.

CB750 / Electric starting whilst in gear
« on: September 20, 2011, 09:07:05 AM »
My CB750F1 crunches when going from neutral into first gear at idle.  It seems somewhat a common problem, so sometimes I select first, pull in the clutch and start the engine afterwards.  On a friend's F1, with first already selected and clutch engaged, engine can be started both by electric start and by kickstart.  However on mine, this is possible only by kickstart.  If I press starter button, nothing happens.  Engine starts by starter perfectly if the gearbox is in neutral.  Does this model have an electric circuit which prevents electric starting whilst in gear or do I have a problem?  Looking forward to your views.  Thanks and regards, Joseph.

CB750 / CB750F Super Sport engine guard
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:28:33 PM »
Hello, I am the new owner of a Honda CB750F Super Sport and I would like to fit an engine crash guard.  I saw some on ebay, but they were mounted at 2 points on each side and they seem to be likely to fold against the engine in the event of a crash or tip-over.  Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent pair of sturdier 3 point ones?  Thanks in advance  :)
