Very nice paintwork, did you do it yourself, or who did do it?:))

The only part of a restoration I don't do myself is the tins, I get them done by a fellow member of the Aircooled RD Club who did my RD250 to factory spec. I made this webpage (http://www.skylinesoftware.co.uk/pj.html) to show him what I wanted and sent the tank and seat to him, total cost was £240 including getting rid of the dents, he applied the candy red a couple of coats at a time then sent me pictures, it got darker each time and I chose when to stop, eventually I told him to stop at 8 coats as it was a pretty close to what I wanted.  His website is here (http://www.medpaint.co.uk/#!/).

I've just been looking at your 20 pages of photos,  thanks, enjoyed it.  It's always the case with prototypes that you'll take a few wrong turns but it's all worth it in the end.

I hear you Mike, 3 different exhausts, 2 different seats, 2 different tanks. 2 different sets of indicators and a lot of chopping and changing before I was satisfied, lots of spares to sell though  :D

After polishing.

Almost there apart from 1 major problem, I can't believe I missed it but the fuel tap fouls the top of the left carb, I'm now on the hunt for a shorter one or it may be a case of moving it's location and sealing up the original hole.

Your bike looks fantastic and the colour is stunning. I've never had a nail varnish with quite that depth of colour but I am on the look out for one now  ;D ;D ;D

Great that, thanks for sharing it with us.
How about leaving the fuel tap on and connect an in line tap. I know there's not much room but it's just a thought.

I found a 34mm centres universal fuel tap that will fit thanks Mike, it is 25mm/1 inch shorter than the original and will clear the carb.
