Can someone tell me about the panching plates and element that appears to sit underneath the air filter in the airbox.
My bike is naturally missing these parts and I think I can source some used panching plates but the element B - 17352-377-000 seems NLA.
What exactly is this part for? Some sort of additional filter? Oil trap?
Is there anything available that can be used as a substitute?
Thanks in advance.
Peter.

Currently overhauling the front brake master cylinder, when I look in the pot, there are two holes, one is full bore and the other one seems much smaller, very small in fact, so much so that I can't tell if it's blocked. Before I force something through it, can someone confirm that both holes should be clear/open. I'm fairly certain they should be as I seem to think the smaller one is to allow the piston to return, but don't want to force something through it if not.
Thanks, Peter.

My bike seems to be missing the side grab handle for pulling onto the main stand. My searches seems to be coming up dry. I have been advised however, that a 750K4 one will fit although a different shape. Can anyone verify this or suggest another alternative please, ideally though, I'd like to source the correct 400/4 part if anyone has one or knows where one is. Thanks, Peter.

I collected the above today, and my first question is - Do the US bikes run with lights on all the time as there doesn't seem to be a switch on the right switch gear to turn lights on and off like the UK/EU bikes. Also the front indicators seem to be on low with the low beam as well or is this a wiring glitch? I wouldn't be surprised as the loom has been hacked.
Thanks, Peter

I've been wondering, will 70's SOHC engines run on unleaded fuel straight out of the box or do you require an engine with hardened valve seats or add lead? My only experience is with a 2 stroke so no valves and my old car has the hardened seats. Thanks, Peter

Can someone with the knowledge or a 400 tell me the overall length of the bike as I'm trying to work out if one will fit in my van. Can only find wheelbase stats elsewhere.
Thanks, Peter

Hello people, I've joined your forum as I've always wanted a 400 four and aim to get one in the near future.
Like many others, I've returned to motorcycling after many years absent. I owned some little 2 strokes in my callow youth and had some little pocket rocket 400cc race reps before leaving that all behind some years ago.
I was lucky enough to be gifted a 2 stroke 1982 Yamaha RD200 some 16 years ago which sat dormant until last year which I've recently finished restoring.

I also own and have restored a 1928 Ford Model A Tudor sedan. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Anyway I'm itching for another bike project and decided now is the time to source a 400F.
Looking forward to owning a Honda soon and know here will be a valuable source of knowledge to tap into.
