My carb throttle spindle carrier / mounting bracket is broken, on taking it to bits I find the 10mm shaft is running in a 13mm bore in the ally casting.
Before I go hunting for another casting, are there different sizes, or should there be a bushing in each of the casting lugs which the shaft runs in?
do these issues ever stop, I had less hassle with the E Type.....
Cheers.
Pete.

Can you post a pic or P/N of what is broken Pete. I broke up a set of K2-K6 carbs to steal the floats/clips etc. from them for my K0.
Also have the alloy carrier for K7 carbs but that's totally different.

Its the bit circled which has broken off on mine, I tried welding it, but the metal is like an aero chocolate bar and just will not weld neatly.

Pete if that is similar to the 500/550 type there was a pin that locates the shaft via a groove in the shaft itself, it stops side to side movement, usually gets broken when the shaft is forcibly removed (don't ask how I know :-[ )

I am pretty sure I have one of those spare Pete but may have spindles etc. still on it. It's no use to me as the 750K0 has 4 separate carb cables. I will have to venture in the garage which is chocker so give me a day to find it and I will send pic, if you are interested.

Yes please Ash, no rush, I'm not having much luck with this build, everything seems to be broken...

Wow must tidy that garage and get rid of the Midget!!!! ::)
Here goes ... ones definitely off a '77 K7 (lower one in photo) and I think the top is K2-K6 but I will let you decide. Spindle nice and free on top one.
