All this talk of group meets and nothing ever happens.
So if we determine how far people are willing to travel we may be able to chose a Start and finish location and for how many days.
Mick
-
OK,I have decided on up to 150 miles ,one or two overnighters, and maybe up to 100 miles a day tour around,
B & B is prefered,
oh !! and pick a sunny few days !! -)))
suggest last 2 weeks in july ??
-
How about planning to go round in a big circle ?. That would probably give more people a chance to just come along for a day ride or an overnight stay, or 2 days or whatever they fancy.
-
That sounds an excellent idea Julie, for me a 2 or 3 day jaunt would be very difficult, given the kids. But a route heading from south to northwest then northeast then back south sounds good, the die hards can do a several day tour, those of us who are a bit less committed could tag along for a bit. Definitely after the frost and salt, it wrecks havock on the bikes finish and isn't fun. Ive done a decade and more of commuting in it. I would need 6 weeks notice to book leave from work and only if no one else has booked already.
-
I have put down 150 miles on the survey, if it did end up mostly up north i could bring the bike in the motorhome then join in the ride at a certain point
pete
-
Damn good idea Pete, as for me it will have to be plane to somewhere near there as its 454 miles to Kent for me
Cheers

That's you sorted Bitsa but what about your bike ?? :-\
-
I think this is a great idea.
I've only ever met two or three of you...
Mid Wales does for me, although I might have to bring a bike with more power, decent handling and good brakes (that'll be the Tiger then...)
Any good places to stay near Llandrindod Wells? We could do Newtown/Crossgates and go to Aberaeron for ice cream. Elan Valley and the Military Road to round it off. (Too many Welsh trips with my Triumph mates...)
-
This is why we love Mid Wales...

-
Has anyone noticed it's not snowing so hard in Wales
-
So hard as what?
-
never snows ,or rains in Wales !!!
I live only 40 mls from Llandrindod,
in the new year, when it gets warmer I could do some web searches,I sometimes play golf at Builth Wells, not far from Llandod,
they may know of a few places,
let me know suggested dates,
and yes,My CB500-4 has visited the area often
-
As hard as it is on the posts on the top of the page ::) ::)
-
It changes from page to page Julie ;D

It changes from page to page Julie ;D
Im not so sure about that Graham :-\ :-\
Anyways, Wales looks beautiful, may have to send the old 400/4 up by TNT overnight to meet me there though ;D ;D
-
If you land at Stansted I can leave my CG125 there for you Bitsa.
I'm not worried were we meet I will be turning up on my 750 I like a challenge. If I pull my finger out my dad maybe on the gold bike.

I never doubt my capabilities or workwomanship Trig (I like that word), it's just a bloody long way from me on a piddling little 400
-
The 400 is a good bike for distance. I have done Greece on a piaggio typhoon and a CD250, they never came back. Also done India and Kenya on a dominator and that is not much bigger than a CB400 four.
-
I would have gone anywhere on my 250u highly underestimated bike.I did 10000 mile on an Aprilia RS50 in one year.
Mick
-

Mick
I did go everywhere Mick. Now on my 5th CD250 and still have the 1988 one in Greece. This what i have never understood. People go back and forth to work, clocking up 12,000 miles in a year but panic to take a car or motorcycle 2,000 miles to somewhere like greece.
-
Embarrassingly I have hardly used my bikes the last year or two work messes things up far to often,
So I'm going to try and make up for it next year.
Mick
-
Love the idea of a round trip and join /drop off where you like. I live near and work in, the Derbyshire Peak District. Some good roads, though some spoilt by speed cameras now (cat and fiddle). Think the forum communication would gain greatly from a personal meet and putting a few faces to all us anoraks here!!
Then for the real die-hards. How about a hop over the channel to see Bitsa via our place in Normandie. Good food, wine and clear fast roads ..........

Ok,the bike would make it but I find that I seize up after about 150 miles !!!. Rode from Perth, Western Australia to Sydney about 20 years ago on a Harley, I doubt if I could make Perth, Scotland to Edinburgh without needing to stop 3 times to stretch the legs these days;D ;D ;D
-
Trouble is I think I maybe the only Muppet that will try to go right around.
I like the idea of free accommodation in France. ;)

I get the feeling you just can't face hurting that copyrighted derriere' of yours Julie:))
-
You do have a good memory Hairy :o :o. But yes, you have a point, backside goes numb on the 400 after a while. Mind you, it's luxurious against when I go on the back of friends R1. The pillion seat is so small and thin it's like sitting on a bloody Jaffa Cake ;D ;D
-
Are you going to do it on your chicken chaser hairy?
Mick
-
I may well have to as the corrective surgery I'm waiting for can't be done until July at the earliest, so no chance of using the 750F1 before then, but hey, Honda 90 IS S.O.H.C., and I have no doubt about it's capabilities, it does 250 miles a week at the moment and never misses a beat:))
-
Could be worse you could have a PC50
Mick
-
True, but I'd rather one of those than a hardly dangerous oops harley davidson, maybe I was right first time:)):))
-
Not so much the body and certainly not the bike but there's not much coverage on my copyrighted @rse and I find the 400's seat to be somewhat numbing, shall we say...
But generally, I'm up for it
-
Well being in mid Wales, if we do wind up meeting up hereabouts, there is room for a few tents on the lawn, plenty of space for bikes on the car park, a nice pub 4 miles up the road and a company that hires out trail bikes / does guided tours of green lanes a couple of miles from there plus b&b. I'm not too familiar with most of the local hotels, given I live here. I can highly recommend the trail bike tour place up the road and they cater to all levels off offroad experience, and also do adventure bike orientated tours which would suit the Triumph tiger owners, but might challenge a cb750 to destruction. I also might be able to rustle up a spare bike or 2 at a pinch, though they are ratty as anything.
-
I would be up for a meet up in the new year, I'm happy to do a bit of travelling to get there ;) hope we can get it sorted, cheers Mick.
-
I'm up for that, I'm certain something will work on the day. Surely :-[
Went to the Ton up day at Brooklands last summer, there were several club stands. That was a great day. Idea, perhaps?
Cheers
ATG
Paul
-
A Club stand at events sounds like a good idea.
It may make it easier for people to arrange for time off.
Mick
-
Brooklands Ace Cafe ton up day is on Sunday 5th July 2015. Application forms for clubs will be available soon, it states on the website. Worth investigating?
Last year there were several stands, demos from the museum bikes, hot girls, hill climbs, hot girls, trade stands, hot girls, live bands, hot girls. Did I mention the hot girls?
Cheers

Paul
-
What about the hot boys, will they be there ? ;D ;D ;D
-
Don't worry Julie I will be there :D
-
That's OK then ;D ;D ;D

I'll be hot if these effing carbs keep leaking petrol!

any further plans,
how about Sammy Miller museum, june 14th
its about 3hr run each way for me,I am going to a river cruise and BBQ in Bristol the day before, but as long as I get
home before 1am,I should be ok for this,
-
Hi John. Why don't to ride to Bristol on the bike the day before, then carry on down to Sammy's Sunday?
-
need to take some supplies !!!
so have to use the car,but I can get the fueled and checked saturday morning,so it will be ready to leave around 7,30am ish
-
Gosh, I might have the bike on the road by 14th June. If not, I can almost push it to Bristol on 13th!
D.
-
I'm going to try real hard to get along to this. Would love to come on the bike but may have to resort to car as 350 mile round trip for me going by longest but quickest route. Could come down on bike on Saturday and stay over till Monday I suppose.
-
I would also like to make this one, usually that time in june i would be in cornwall in the motorhome but i will see how it goes, if i have any sohc bikes left by then i could chuck it in the back of my van and do the long journey in comfort, then get the bike out two or so miles away , and ride in like i was a proper bad ass long distance dude,
(http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/laughing/roflmao.gif) (http://www.sherv.net/)(http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/laughing/roflmao.gif) (http://www.sherv.net/)
-
I would suggest we all camp in the forest, have a piss up and camp fire. Unfortunately I couldn't make that as it's my birthday on the Saturday and I'll have family commitments π.

-
Yes, round trip. A shorter by distance route is to take the coast road but it is a very, very slow ride, even on a bike. Anyways, have booked annual leave from work for that weekend, just need to book dogs in to kennels, so looking hopeful.
-
How about having regional meeting points so we can ride down in several groups, Bristol would be good for me and a few other riders.

for me,how about Membury services on the M4,then on to J14 and A4 to Newbury then south on the A34,
-
I could go A34.
-
Well, I'm all sorted. Hotel booked, dogs booked in kennels, Annual leave booked from work. I will make a decision nearer the time as to bike or car. See you there...........or not.
-
Steph 550 lives round the corner. Maybe we could talk her in to converting her garden in to a SOHC campsite ;D
-
High Guys,
It's never easy getting a few of us together I know. However, if some of you could try to make it Steph and myself would be keen to meet up in the New Forest/Sammys. How about making it down on the Sat lunchtime, time/weather permitting and we could take you around the Forest for a run (we'll be on the 550 and 750) which would include late lunch, beer and 'chew the fat' into early evening?
I'm actually running the Sammy Jap day the next day (10am)on the Sunday and I would reckon it will attract around 300 plus 'Jappers' of which around 100 will be classics. 3pm and it all quieten downs. Just a thought?
Lot's of B n B's around Ringwood, Lyndhurst, Western side of Southampton (don't recommend centre of!) Verwood and Fordingbrindge to mention a few!π any thoughts?
Nige.
-
hi,speaking personally,I can't do June 13th,saturday,I assume its a 2 day event?
the sunday is 95% certain for me
-
I'm going to attempt racing flat track this year and the weeknd in June already is booked for the 3rd round.
Saying that if for whatever reason can't go racing I would love a trip to Sammys.
May I suggest meeting up in King's lynn on a event called Dirtquake, it's bloody good fun to watch and should be easy to find campsite near.
http://www.sideburnmag.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/dirt-quake-iv.html
17 July friday is a racing for flat trackers and final is on 18th with all the other racing as well.
Would love to meet up people who so kindly help with sorting my bike.
I hope I have it running by summer...
-
I'm up for the camping idea. Just say when.
-
John,
No, it's a Sunday event. But a busy one! I also forgot to mention that there are plenty of camping venues in the New Forest. Sandy Balls, Nr Fordingbridge is a popular one, with at least 3 lovely 'Forest' style pubs nearbyπ. A sat ride out down to the coast for excellent fish n chips is highly recommended!
I'd be grateful if anyone thinks this is something they'd like to do and get together I'd like to hear from them? My phone no is 07968 980624. Or PM me. Ta.
Nige.
-
Count me in. Beer and chips are my 5 a day.
-
I'll be there with the 550....but Trigger, Nige might have something to say about me turning his garden into an sohc campsite! My bikes are already hogging half his garage space ;D
Looking forward to it!
Steph.
-
if youre looking at a good place to stop overnight, the versys forum stayed at the swallow falls complex in betws y coed in north wales. there are chalets and room for camping although the breakfast wasnt great. it seemed a good meeting point for those based further north. just a suggestion.
-
That is quite a way from Sammy Miller's though π.
-
i know! i just noticed i've come in mid-conversation there! you carry on, i'll catch up. :)
-

Steph, was looking a hotels in Lyndhurst and most are already fully booked. Was looking for a place that some of our rare bikes would be safe over night. Any ideas girl ?

Are you hinting that i should turn up with my tool box mate ;D ;D ;D Lost a CBX/6 from a car park at a Novatel once, lesson learnt.
-
making me worried, one of the things I really like about my bike is that I can park it without bothering to lock it up, assuming that no one would be interested in taking such a scruffy old bike. perhaps I'm out of touch.
-
I've never heard of a problem in the Forest. Avoid Central Southampton of Course!! I can't recommend a place to stay but in my experience B n B's try to be very accommodating regarding security. Perhaps a chain/cable as a deterrent? The camp sites have log cabins, such as Sandy Balls. 2 can share easily. I would offer my garage but you couldn't squeeze a mouse into it!
Hope you guys can sort it!
Nige and Steph.

I have ridden up to Port Merion and back for a day out,
not to far from Betws y coed, lovely biking roads,
well worth a few days to play,
the Sammy Miller do,I hope to ride down on the sunday, for a day out, weather permiting
-
Just checking if this meet up at Sammy millers on the 14th June is still on?
Kevin
-
it is for me.and I think Mike from Caerfilly as well,
any more ??
-
Had a hotel booked for about two months now. won't be coming on a Honda though, will take the SV, don't mind if that gets nicked ;D ;D ;D
-
I will try to make it, trouble is i dont have any Hondas on the road at the moment but i might try and get the K1 ready
pete
-
Still planning on riding my K1 there you never know my dad may be on the gold one.
Pete are you planing to ride yours there?
Mick
-
Mick , well sort of i might cheat and put it in the back of my motorhome if it fits then ride in from the nearest campsite
But dont tell anyone (http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/hand-gestures/dont-tell-smiley-emoticon.gif) (http://www.sherv.net/)
-
Oh your one of them are ya. ;)
I once saw someone get out of there car at the NEC and then put there leathers on. ???
Mick
-
OK, sounds like it's on, will be riding down from Telford on my South African reg CB400F. getting back to Uk this month.
Would B&B's be the best bet or camping? i won't be booking, just turning up etc. will this be OK.
Anyone fancy going to the Hubb meet in Northern Ireland 26-28 June.
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/hu-travellers-meetings-uk/horizons-unlimited-ireland-2015-june-79413
Kevin
-
That's a long way on a 400/4
-
I'll be there weather permitting. Not sure which bike. My 400 is on display in The Bidford Vintage Gathering in a couple of weeks time and I'm tempted to put a For Sale on it. It's the sort of place where it might just catch someone's eye who will pay over the odds . Kevin are you going to bring some clutch rubbers?
-
Yeah I should be there on one of the 750's...may only be able to stay for a couple of hours as the Mrs is away on a Hen do so will need to rope in Grandparents for the kids...
-
Green 1. Telford to Sammy Miller or South Africa to Telford.. plane to New York criss crossing to California, up route 1 along the coast to Seattle, east across WA, north to Canada, west to Vancouver....plane to Frankfurt, Switzerland Italy east coast down, up west coast to Monte Carlo, through France to Calais, Dover, Telford, lake district, New Castle, Humber bridge, Skegness, Telford. 4 Months on the road, 22000 km's, last year.

Kevin
-
Another Photo taken at Deals gap (tail of the dragon US129).
Not sure if this one will load as it's quite large, but will give it a go.
Kevin
-
Kevin I look forward to meeting you and talking about your products - we spoke a couple of months back via email..cheers, James.
-
Blimey been busy.
A wee bit longer than the average ride out.
Mick
-
Hi James, yes looking forward to meeting you all. Itching to get back on the bike.
Mick, Yes wanted to do the trip for a while. Still want to do some more next year out to Vladivostok.
Kevin
-
Yep, I will be there too. Not sure if bike or car yet, depends on the weather ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
What we need now is the name of a pub to meet up, preferably one with camping and also serving real ale.
-
the meet at Sammy Millers on the 14th june seems to be well supported,
have we asked if we can have a section of the park area for our bikes?
keep them all together,I know its a VJMC event, but we should be an addition,
maybe a club discount to the museum?
any thoughts?
PS,see you on the 14th !!!
-
If we park next to the VJMC guys, I can park my bike on the border.

-
Well I was coming on my 400 but just sold it . I do still want to come on the Gixer though.
-
Sorry I haven't got to this thread earlier guys. Bloody work and servicing and riding the K0!
Really chuffed to see so much interest in this event from yourselves. As the organiser, along with Sammy's, of course you will be able to line up in your own group!😎 I will make sure that as you arrive, you will all be lined up together in the forcourt
Perhaps you can confirm you're likely to be there a couple of days before? I'd be most grateful. Any of you coming down the day before? Steph and myself would love to meet up on the 750/550 and maybe a sneaky beer to boot in the Forest!😋
Please call me if you have a question or two or any suggestions you may have for either day?
Nige and Steph.
-
I'm still planning on turning up on the Saturday on my 750 my dad will be in tow on his Triumph we will have to let him off as its all been a bit hectic the last couple of weeks going to Hospital every evening to see my mum.

I'm organising the event. Anyone like to meet up on the Saturday? Not sure if you're doing your own thing but Steph(550 F2) and myself, 750 K0, may be able to meet up in the Forest in the afternoon?
My phone number is 07968 980624 should you wish to call. Have a good ride down.
Nige.

I will be going down on Saturday. So, were are we meeting up and what time ???
-
Can you send me a txt or call Trigger? Easier to communicate. Ta.
Nige.
-
Wish I could join you but I work on Sundays, have a good time all and remember if you decide to drink lean on a wall, its softer to slide down than fall over!!
-
Have a good weekend all.
can't get away this weekend.
-
can anyone tell me why this is not on the main board ? I have members texting me wanting to know what is the meeting place and at what time ???
-
I haven't texted you yet Graham ;)
Where and when are we meeting ;D
Mick

I hope you all have a fantastic time; unfortunately I have an ailing in-law and have spent every weekend since Easter up in Suffolk (gardening mostly....)
Please get me some hi-res pictures of the cutaway engine (even a video anyone?)
Give my regards to Sammy

and the sectioned CB750 engine, unfortunately it did not animate,so no video
-
Great day Great people. We must do it again
No photos from me as I forgot my camera.
Mick
-
Thanks for the pics John, wish I could have been there, but health issues just don't permit at the moment, can't physically ride the 750 at the moment, the chicken chaser would have made it no problem, but the amount of medical supplies I have to carry for a night away make it impossible. Mick, are you you only person on the planet without a camera phone?>:)
-
Looks a great day out good photos love the maroon cb250 had one.You are all lucky sods
Thanks for the photos
Ralph
-
If would seem that way if I didn't bump into mike the bike I would still be going around the forest trying to find everyone.
Why should I take photos when everyone else can do it for me. ;D
Mick
-
Oh dear, terrible attitude of you young whippersnappers today! (b)

I'll post some photos when I get round to it. Watch this space.
Grand couple of days that were, just what I needed!
-
If would seem that way if I didn't bump into mike the bike I would still be going around the forest trying to find everyone.
Why should I take photos when everyone else can do it for me. ;D
Mick
Like these you mean?
-
Good to see you got my good side ;D
Mick
-
Julie just noticed your pipes are touching ;D ;D
Mick
-
Sounds great. I'm gutted I couldn't make it. Hopefully next year.

Mick did I notice your rev counter isn't working? How do you know when to change gear? ::)
-
The cable broke this morning. So did the speedo on the way home ::)
I don't tend to look at the clocks anyway just go by feel and sound
-
Sorry I couldn't make it. Those bikes look spectacular you should all be proud.
Who's is who on the piccies? And who's is the twin ? ... could be either a CB250 or 350K4 in that colour. The only one I can identify is Julie's lovely 400/4. Is it a USA import Julie, as it only has a single front mudguard stay?
Definitely will be at Lotherton Hall VJMC show if it's on this year and of course Stafford in October.
Cheers ... Ash

Mick
;D ;D ;D That is a pretty hammer.
Great weekend, lovely to see you all and your lovely bikes. I will post some pics later, riding back to Kent later today. Ash, no, my 400 is a UK model but has the wrong front mudguard on.

I tried posting some phots but it wont do it. The size (8kB) is too big apparently.
I'll print them out and nail them to my shed door so just pop round and have a look.

Very good to see you guys at the show - quiet a distance you all travelled and a brilliant effort!😄 as you see the weather Gods were smiling on us thanks God! 😎βοΈ
65 Classic bikes made it. 205 jap bikes in total!😊 the previous day we made it to the pub and met there Sat evening. I'm amazed Mike and Dave managed to sleep at all in there teeeeeeny tent!?!👀
Good to see Graham (Trigger) and Julie (Nurse) who popped by my place for a cuppa before their journey home. Learning a lot from Graham - he has some good ideas...😉
I hope more can meet up next year? I'll be running an even bigger show next year around this time at Sammy's once again.
Nige.

Thanks John but that's confused me even more. I had to navigate away from that page quickly before some serious synaptic failure occurred.

Ouch! Good man Pete for doing the right thing, hope the Mrs makes a speedy recovery.:-(

No way should the gold bike win just because it turned up clean and polished ;D ;D

I know the Sammy Miller meet is only just over, but while everyone is raving how good it was,
lets consider another meeting,
this is in Wiltshire, maybe to far for those living in the east of the country, but very worthwhile visiting,
see the link,
http://www.calnebikemeet.com/
the main date is a saturday,
-
That looks quite cool John. Not a metal fan but Strictly Dan have caught my eye... Reeling In The Years, Haitian Divorce, Do It Again, "I never thought the girl could be so cruel, and I'm never going back to my old school", FM ....
Wiltshire very doable for me.
-
Hi all,
It was great to meet some of you and put faces to the forum names! :) Sorry I didn't get more time to chat at Sammy Miller's, I kept having to dash off and try to herd bikers into parking spaces (a bit like herding cats??) ;)
Thanks for making the big effort to ride all the way and support the show! Hopefully we can meet up again soon.
Cheers,
Steph.

Mick
Did have a word in someones shell like that they should have a prize for the most used classic jap bike and they were listening mate ;)
-
I think Johns bike would win that I kept finding myself drawn to it.
Mick

-
We should have all been parked up together as a group. I didn't get to meet some of the other chaps as a result.
-
We will try for that next year Mike
-
And name badges so we know who's who.
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
What are you on about, you had a badge !!!! And I don't need one, I know who I am ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
It was easy to guess who you were Julie.
-
Yer, I suppose it was Mike ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
Aww Julie nice pics you took... but did you download the thumbnails rather than the images themselves? Bit low res :-[
-
I'm glad you said that Tom I got worried for a second I thought I was going blind.
But what I could see looked good. ;)
Mick
-
I obviously still have a bit of learning to do with the camera on the phone :'( :'( :'( :'(
Anyone that wants better quality pic's, PM me with your emails and I will send them over.
-
Emailed toy Julie... Offer is to resize them to forum limits and post back. Alternatively if you have a photobucket or flicker account toy can host them there and post links here :-*
-
Great pictures julie, it is a real shame i could not make it ,

I might tentatively mention the Calne meet to my better half, she hails from roughly that part of the world and it is near the time we intend to visit her family down there. The kids are kind of at a demanding age so I doubt I'd be taking a bike down there - been on the 500/4 plenty of times to that area but 2 kids and 2 adults is possible on my bike it doesn't leave room for luggage even if I got the bike ready on time. Looks like those that could make it had a great day. Maybe next year, depends on how long the terrible 2's last.
-
My 2nd attempt at photos
-
Blimey, it worked
-
See my tent was plenty big enough
Mick
-
Could have got an entire family of Somalis in there
-
how did you know that's were I got it from.
-
I did remark at the time who had the b@lls to turn up on a Superdream.
-
Am I missing something don't see a dream ???
-
Next to mine Mick
And peoples... what's with all these fag-packet-sized pictures? >:(
-
There's a download maximum size, hence the small pics.
-
How did miss that I must put my specks on.

How was the campsite?
Sent from my HTC Desire 510 using Tapatalk
-
Flat, dry, bogs not too far away, pub next door. Ideal.
-
Green & bumpy ;D
Mick
-
That's because you didn't have an airbed.
-
That was my presumption too .

Mick, you gotta remember plan 7P...
Prior Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance
-
Na I prefer wing it it makes it more fun if you don't have a clue what's going on. ;)
Mick
-
Bit like your bike as you go round a corner :P
-
Good to see you at mine the next morning Julie and Graham. (Thanks for the connectors!)
Hope we can all meet up again next year and take on board Juilie's suggestions.
My K0 and the exhausts have a new owner and I have suggested he keeps an eye on this fab and helpful site for support/advice, should he need it.
Just the Bomber, K1 and the Triumph TR6 now.....😔 keeping those but I always keep an eye out for a project...👀
Nige.
-
The bullets will look a lot better under the seat on the Bomber ;)

That's great John, you have made my day, especially as I'm quite a bit older than Trigger 😃😃😃😃😃😃

So are any others off here going to be dropping in on the Calne meet mentioned earlier? The better half seems amenable to us dropping in on it, albeit in a car with kids in tow.
-
I usually go to Calne, when is it?

How about the Copdock motorcycle show for the next meet.
Sunday 4th October Phil Read will be there we could even have a stand to show off our bikes and promote the forum.
http://www.copdock-cmc.co.uk/Events-TheShow.htm
Mick
-
It's quite a distance but I'm up for it.
-
It's quite a distance but I'm up for it.
Local to Mick ;)
-
Not too far for Julie either
-
That's doable from here Mike, 125 miles each way, all on Motorway.
-
4 and a quarter hours, 243 miles, all motorways.
-
If any of you want an introduction to Phil Read, let me know and I'll give him a call...
Sounds a bit odd but he is actually a mate of mine. I did his website and spannered for him (ex-Roberts 500 Yamaha) at one of the BSB meetings at Brands a few years back.
Steve
[He signed my PRR - I wonder where it is now?]
-
What, do you mean you used to carry his spanners for him, sort of like a golf caddy but with spanners?
-
I was his "mechanic" in the "pits" (gazebo in the paddock).
He had to show me how to wire the bolts on the front brake calipers...
:)
Steve
-
Oh, I see what you mean now ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I was only joking with you Steve, I have spent many a day over the years in the pits at Brands with the riders and teams of BSB, happy days.
But saying that, I'm still looking for the wires on my front caliper, is the wire a OEM part, where do I get some from, my 400/4 passed it's MOT without it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Is anyone going to the bike show at the NEC?
http://www.motorcyclelive.co.uk/
I'm planning on the Monday, but could go for a weekend day if there are others going.
