Dear All, Honda doesnt show the part/part number of this hidden o-ring under the metal sleeve, which goes into the crankcase seal of the chain sprocket axle. Do you maybe now the size? My own quick check is 22mm inside and 2 mm thick

Dear All, I would like your knowledge and advice on which color codes bearings these are:
And this is a different set of crankcases, than the rollerbearing marks (see other post)
Crankcase stamping BBCBB Crank A1 B1 B2 B2 2 Conrods 2 3 2 1
So that makes for the crank: B1 B1 C2 B2 B2 Green Green xxxx Brown Brown, what is C2 crank?
Conrods: A2 B3 B2 B1 Yellow Brown, B2 and B1 are?
Please add and confirm the color
Thank you a lot
Kind regards,
Emiel

Dear All, I want to build up a new cb400f engine but checking the crankcases after washing them, I see and feel with my nail that the gearbox rollerbearing made markings in the crankcase. Is this bad? Did the bearings spin around, because of not enough pre tension? Can I use the crankcase? Shall I glue the bearings in with Loctite? Please advise. Kind regards Emiel

Dear All,
Just got my Honda CB400F cylinder back from wetblasting, gonna mount NOS pistons with a third oversize, so 51,75mm.
Ofcourse the machine guy will measure each piston and match that size to the sleeve/bore.
Which clearance must he take? As tight as possible? 0,04mm or 0,05mm or 0,06mm (sorry no inches)
Please advise, thank you.
Kind regards,
Emiel

Dear All,
Just bought a Honda CB400 four engine in parts, which I would like to rebuild. All the parts are looking ok, and are a good base to start from, but I need a little help on the bearing codes.
Sadly they already took of the conrods from the crankshaft so I dont know in which sequence they were mounted. But with new shells it should not matter right? (The conrods all are the same weight code)
Crankcase stamps: A C C C C Crankshaft: A1 A1 A1 A1 1 Conrods: 3 3 1 1
Crankcodes will be than: A1 C1 C1 C1 C1 so that is Yellow and C1 is? Please advise C1! Conrod codes: A3 A3 A1 A1 so that is Green, Green, Red and Red? Please confirm.
Kind regards,
Emiel Verstoep

Dear All, quick question about the camshaft sprocket, there are two versions, the solid earlier one and the later lighter version with holes. When do you mount the the big black washer? Only with the solid sprockets? Or always? Please advise. Kind regards, Emiel

Dear All,
Just started on my second HondaCb400Four engine, still learing about the crank and rods color codes.
Please let me know if I have it correct! :-)
Crankcase: B A B A A Crank: A1 A1 A1 A1 2 Conrods: 2 2 3 2
Crankcodes are: B1 A1 B1 A1 A2 which translate into Green, Yellow, Green, Yellow and Green? Conrod codes: A2 A2 A3 A2, which translate into, Yellow, Yellow, Brown or Green?? and Yellow
Please confirm A3 conrod code, Brown or Green?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Emiel

Dear All,
I know this subject passes a lot on the forum, but this is my first Honda CB 400 Four engine so I would like to double check the bearing info.
My crankcase stamps outside are BBBBB My crank paint says: A1 A1 B1 B1 2 My conrods paint says: 1 2(bit blurry, see pic) 3 3
So my cranks bearing codes are: B1 B1 B1 B1 B2, so that is Green, Green, Green, Green and ? (Please advise color shell B2)
Conrods will be: A1 A2 B3 B3, so that is ? Yellow ? ? Please advise color shell A1 and B3
Thanks a lot.
Kind regards,
Emiel

Dear All, I have a question about inlet/exhaust valves for a Honda CB 400 four. The OEM Honda valves are not cheap, but proven quality. Now Vesrah is selling a valve set for around 145 euro, half the price of OEM. But are they good? Any one fitted these before? Please advise. Or shall I go for stainless valves, plus 1mm?
Specs of my bike: Big bore 466cc, WEBCAM stage2, bored Honda carbs (Rick Denoon), K&N pod filters and stainless 4 into 1 (Moto GP works)
Kind regards,
Emiel
