Just after the rebuild I had the same issue. I just ran until oil pressure came up and was just fine after that. But didn’t like running it with oil pressure light on. I don’t remember having any trouble before rebuild with oil pressure issues. Would quite fancy trying another oil pump.

You can never over stock on WD40.

I will check wiring - the red light is staying on. I have only put 2 1/2 litres in so far and that is put level to top mark on dip stick. I suspect that the filter area is not filled with oil yet as it was all drained. Reluctant to start engine again until it is sorted. Think it should be about 3.2 litres capacity with filter change.

Changed oil today, now lost oil pressure, didn’t change filter but drained oil from filter housing. Any tips! Prime?  And yes I have put oil back in.

Not sure if this was correct but anyway. Tesco 15/40 mineral oil £10 for 2 litres, same oil 4 litres £4.🤔. I seen little point in arguing with the self service checkout machine. Maybe they were selling off the 4litre ones as it was the only one in the shop?

Yes very exciting stuff, I will be very interested to see how they fit also as must buy a set in the future. Yes Phil the problem is a set of these 341’s is the price of a good shed. 😂😂😡😡

Yes nice bike, could easily have come off a Honda assembly line! I don’t remember any up in Orkney, but I do remember at least two GS550E’s. one black with blue decals and one dark red/maroon/burgundy colour. Always liked the black one but struggled to just keep my MK2 Cortina on the road at that time so could only dream.

That’s a very interesting piece of Honda history! Thanks for sharing.

Mine does have the captive bolts at the front to catch plastic inner guard and rear frame cross member.

I thought it was uk because I have a uk K3 and it has three holes for rear lights and number plate mount.

Looks very much to me like a uk 550k3 rear mudguard. (may fit other models)

Is this bike giving birth to the brass section of an orchestra? Hate it! Each to their own.
