CB350/400 / Wanted. Blue left hand side cover.

Does anyone have a blue left hand side cover they would part with? Mine has been snapped and repaired, I would like to replace with one in good condition?
I do have a spare yellow one that I could spray but would prefer blue.
If I get a blue one the yellow one will become available if anyone is interested.

CB350/400 / CB400 Oil Way Plug

Can anyone advise on the best way to remove this plug, see pic. I am assuming it's removable as the parts manual shows it has an O ring. It feels tight and I don't want to use any unnecessary force. Does it just pull out with a bit of effort? Would like to replace the O ring when I rebuild. Cheers.

Having taken the conrods off I have found that the journals are of similar condition to the mains. A bit u/s. Crank looks pretty good though, no marks, very smooth. One problem I have is that I can't see all the crankshaft markings. The crankcase is marked BABBB. The conrods 2131. So the info I have is as diagram:

Assuming the missing marks are A and 1, am I right in assuming the main journals are Green, Yellow, Green, Green, Green and the big ends are Yellow, Red, Green, Red?

CB350/400 / Another little issue!!

When I removed the camchain tensioner bolt a nice length of thread came with it. I know I have read on here the pros and cons of helicoils and timeserts but I can't find the thread that explains which is better for open and blind holes. Can anyone help? The bolt that sits above the tensioner rod looks home made. Can anyone advise on what the bolt should be?

This is the centre journal. Looks marked compared with all the others. Is this usable or should I try and find a replacement? Having said that I can't find any of the letters and numbers yet!!

CB350/400 / Pin removal

I could do with some advice on removing a pin from the crankcase. The pin is near enough flush with the case and I can't get any real grip on it. Looks like the engine was built (maybe rebuilt) with the bearing not in the right position so pin is jammed in, bearing is shattered (still runs smooth though). New pin required, was going to change all bearings anyway.

Has anyone used Niphos in Crewe for nickel and chrome plating? Allenchrome are top of my list as recommended by Nurse Julie but Niphos is just down the road so I was considering them.

Have done a search on the site and couldn't find anything on the best blasting media for frame, swing-arm, etc. Can anyone recommend a blasting media?

Hi. Some advice sort. I have two types of indicator on my 1978 400. Can someone advise me on which is original if any? Also the mounting brackets are different. I believe the short one is original. Any help appreciated.

Has any got a Castolin Portable Brazing Kit? If so are they any use? General stuff, not thinking of going into business!

Hi. Just bought a CB400 40 years after my first. Looks good from a distance but needs lots of work. Might be my memory but there are a couple of odd things about the bike. It's an F2 but is blue, may have been changed, can't remember whether the F2 was available in red or blue. UK engine and frame but the front indicators are mounted high (European bracket?). Anyway just started would be interested in following others who are restoring the 400.

Hi, does anyone have any advice on how to recondition nuts and bolts? I am particularly interested in how to coat the  engine nuts and bolts on my CB400/4.
