Title: Engine Bolt Supplier... very impressed!
Post by: ClassicGlory on July 20, 2007, 12:00:05 AM
I needed an engine bolt kit for my 400/4 after already buying one over a year ago only to find out that it only included the engine cover bolts when I came to use it... DOH!

I then saw an a guy sellig bolt kits on ebay and so I emailed him privately. Not only did he lower all his costs including carriage because ebay weren't getting a cut but he sent me a fantastic COMPLETE set of stainless steel bolts and washers for the engine casings, covers and cylinder head AND a set of SS bolts, washers and screws for the carburettors.

He sells kits for lots of bikes and his charges are very reasonable.

Don't let the fact he's in France put you off as the carriage was cheap and fast.

Welcome CG.

Interesting - I see this guy's listings but never bought anything from him.

I've just ordered a set of carb screws (Allen socket in electropolished stainless steel with coil washers) from Inox. Float bowl (16) and top cover (8). Cost was about

Patrick did all the research and all the parts come in SS with washers ect.. and they are clearly labeled unlike the first kit I bought from another ebay vendor in Germany.

I was charged 48 euros including carriage but this is for every crankcase fastner, cover fastner and a full carb kit and washers all in stainless.

Good communications in perfect English too.

I'm in Bournemouth, UK.

Steve,

I recieved all the parts in 2-3 days and have fitted all the engine bolts (not done the carbs yet).
There is no plating as these parts are all solid stainless steel. Quality is fantastic.
I chose not to mirror polish mine as they come with the same shine as you get with a zinc plated item but you could further polish them if you wanted to and have a permanent chrome style finish.

All the lengths are correct and the unthreaded shank lengths are also correct.

For me, the best but is being supplied pre researched kits to I do not have order seperate exact items.

If I am in the UK I'll take you up on the beer but will probably arrive by car so I can carry lots of booty home.

Regards

Chris.

Typo I'm afraid. I meant polishing ("electropolish", whatever that is), not plating.

Here's a photo of the difference between the plain SS and the electropolished SS

On the left are the std parts from the guy in France.
On the right are the polished parts from Inox.

You pays your money and you takes your choice!

Oh no there's not etc, etc,  ;) Got the pic Steve? I'm about to replace all my carb screws so interested to see them. Looking at the Inox site their stuff is very good, but I tend to use Stagonset (or sometimes e-bolt)for most of my fasteners.
