I was bored today,. this Covid thing has given me a bit of spare time, so I set about google-ing myself and I ended up here.
Wow, this has changed a lot, I remember when I first set the original site up way back before the millennium and then I got distracted and SteveD took it over, I'm impressed.
I don't have an SOHC anymore but still massively into bike, but just thought I'd pop by and see how you all are.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome back Mr B, i've got to say i do like your avatar, is it a likeness ? ;)

Lol, if only I looked that good

Nice to hear from you again
Cheers

Welcome back

Hi John.
You have a lot to catch up on! Maybe the weather over the weekend will help
This is almost the perfect bike forum. We talk about bikes 99.5% of the time. Not all SOHC and not even all Hondas.
I have had to ban only one member since we switched to this format in 2007 and maybe moderated two or three posts. Usually a PM to the poster fixes things.
Read Julie’s 400/4 engine thread and then go out and get yourself one!

Nice to hear that Steve. I'll certainly check out the post. Inspite of the weather I've a busy weekend, I'm currently sat at home waiting for Postman Pat to deliver GS500 gasket set, I have a Suzuki in need to more compression.

A big thanks from me to JonnyB and SteveD for such a great forum. Certainly the most informative and useful forum I've ever been a member of. ☺👍
-
Hey, don't thank me, this has all been Steve's work, but it's nice to be back

I'm not sure how 3 and a 1/2 can be classed as too many, I guess I'm just lucky ;) But when the go wrong it a drain on the finances and the soul. I was given a R1150RT half way through lockdown by a mate who just didn't want the hassle anymore, ABS failure among other things it's the 2nd Abs-Ecotomy I've performed in the last couple of years.

Welcome Jonny to what is now the mad world of the SOHC ;)
Nice to have more people on here from Lincolnshire, where there seems to be more bikes than cars on the roads at certain times of the year :o
-
Welcome back and well done for setting it up in the first place. ;)

Hi Johnny, yes all of a sudden I feel like a bit of a newbie again reading these posts. But I also am very grateful for this forum an invaluable source for parts, info, help and a bit of sarcasm whether you want it or not.😂😂
-
Thanks from me too - the forum is a great community and constant source of info. And can't forget to thank Steve for his ongoing work in facilitating it all

Thanks everyone. I hope I can impart some useful information in future posts.

Hello Jonny 👋👋👋👋👋
-
Welcome back to what is easily the best forum on the web.
-
Originally the site was a CMS and got hacked a couple of times and I was ready to jack it all in, but it was SteveD and a couple of other members that spurred me on to keep it going, I remember Steve advising to try this forum software it's on now for a long time there was only about a dozen members, I can't believe how big it's got.
I had an '76 F1 in those days the whole reason for stating the site and an F2 wish I'd kept the F2 to be honest but I needed some cash and wanted to get back into full time riding, I sold them both and put the money into a Deauxville, gave Steve the website and rode off into the sunset.
Can't remember who I sold the bikes too, but I'm sure it was someone on here who lived in Scunthorpe
And yes, it's the best forum I've been on in a long time
-
hey Jonny it could have been me you sold the bikes to, do you live at the old Scampton air base?
-
Hey. yes I do. I remember you came over in a van and I followed you home to help you unload.
How are you?
-
all good here, it was very kind of you to help me out. I didn't do anything with the bikes, the F2 bits went to another member of this forum as did lots of spares. Glad to see you back, maybe a sohc in your future!
cheers, Mick
