Post by: Athame57 on August 04, 2020, 05:32:29 PM
Is the most expensive sump oil really the best? Where do you get older style oil these days if it is better?

Oil for cars can cause slipping clutch.
I gave my CB750 Mobile 1 in the 80"s to ensure a good oil. Clutch slipped when twisting hard shifting to 5:th. Released throttle a little and twist again sounded like enter another gear.

I use these people but use any 10w40 oil. Doesn't matter which brand really, they're all blended to the same basic standards.

Being married has many advantages and one is the access to an old pair of tights. I used them to cover the open bell mouths on carbs to prevent stones and small children being sucked in. Not easy for a old fashion, non metro sexual bloke to walk into a shop to buy women's tights ::)

When I worked for Corona Soft Drinks, every Friday, me and mate used to stash some fork lift truck oil behind the pallets on the waste ground.  At lunchtime we undid the sump plugs and dumped last week's oil on the ground and refilled it. This went on for months.

It's alright "Bob from Sussex" your secret is safe with us. You don't have to go done pretending to have a wife to be wandering around the countryside in possession of women's lingerie  ;D ;D ;D ;D

About 15 yeras ago I used to use a pair of my wifes tights as a filter when I put old chip oil in my Sierra 2.3 Diesel estate.  That was until the Frying Sqaud caught up with me.
