Looking for D8EA plugs. I read there are some fake ones out there to avoid??
Can anyone recommend a supplier? TIA. Harold

Lots of fakes around allegedly 😁 I never buy at a/jumbles or Fleabay but use a motor factors but still get the odd dud🙀

You can easily tell the fakes as they don't have any numbers stamped in the metal collar.

Still on subject of plugs am I right saying Nippon Denso plugs were used by Honda as original fitment? I see Nippon Denso plugs are still available,anyone using them instead of NGK?

Yes, we have ND in a few of our bikes, my 550 Mongrel being one of them. The problem now though is that the X-22ES have recently been discontinued by ND 🙄🙄🙄. I don't know if the X-24ES are still available for the 400/4 though.

I use ND X22-ES in my 750F1 and they work well, the X24-ES are still available.

I got some very cheap NGK plugs (so called) for the CL450, via eBay. So cheap I bought two spares, as well.
They didn't last 5 minutes, I am now using the 50 year old originals that came with the bike, no problems at all! :)

Halfords for NGK plugs...but you will be lucky to get more than two, they only seem to keep one or two of each type in stock. Personally I prefer nippon denso,, I use these people https://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/

I get from motor factors via my brothers garage and had couple duds 1 being Iridium which ain’t bad in over 20 years😁 I avoid online buying of anything unless I’m certain seller is honest

It is sickening when hours and hours of wasted time chasing timing/carburation problems are almost cured by refitting four very rusty but wire brushed 40 year old NGK's in place of four new ones, and the improvement carries on after fitting ND plugs

I have managed to aquire a few D7EV for my 500, originaly used on advice a a gentleman named Stan Dibbden who was the NGK and Mobyke rep in the 70's ( and a VERY respected ex racer), started cleaner ran faster and more mpg. No longer made but found some

In that case, would a D7EA work better than a D8EA?

D7EA with resistor caps certainly working for me. 500/4 K1 with DSS coils.
