CB750 / Flanged tappet covers

Noticed these on an F2 motor for sale on the Bay, are they just flashy tappet covers/period tat or some kind of external oil feed adapters?

CB750 / CB 750 F2 Rear lower mount bolt
« on: August 09, 2018, 09:54:40 AM »
Morning

A little while ago I bought some stainless mount bolts for my 750f2 (one of mine was a little bent and the threads were a bit suspect, also I am a bit of a tart ;D).

The kit I purchased was from Zedparts, of the 3 mounting bolts 2 were fine but the rear lower engine mount (12mm) which goes through the footpegs is considerably shorter (50mm or so).

Now I've mentioned this to the seller on the presumption they sent the wrong bolt and they say they have never cut a bolt this long for a 750 SOHC K or F so I'm wondering is this the original bolt?

Project Board / CB 750 F2

After seeing SumpMagnets post about his F2 I thought I really should get around to sharing my own build which has been ongoing since last October

As bought last September

Seemed a nice enough machine (at first glance).

After fresh petrol, oil and a speedy MOT courtesy of a mate decided to take it for a short run to Seaton Carue.

The journey highlighted some fueling issues and a quite prominent oil leak from the head around no. 1 cylinder, there went my hopes of enjoying the last month of decent riding weather.

So the strip down commenced earlier than planned in mid October 17

Apologies I haven't done a brilliant job documenting the early strip down it was a little rushed.

Engine out! (Christ they are substantial lumps!)

Some damage was noted on the head stock at this time where a chunk had been taken out of the lock stop and the bottom yoke "modified" to compensate (A hole drilled through the stop with a nut and bolt to take up the steering slack...).

At leas this gave me a bit of an idea what to expect for the rest of the bike (bodges to buggery ::) )

Will post more when I get home and access to the other photo's.

Where's My Old Bike? / Dads CB750 K0 EYG 43H

Evening, was just talking with my dad earlier and pondered if anyone knows where his old 750 ended up, for a bit of nostalgia here is the receipt from when he acquired in 1975 aged 19, think he sold it 2 years later and the new owner promptly crashed it just down the road, nothing too serious he says he got back on and kept going.

Hi all (Y)

Just recently acquired myself a 1978 CB750 F2 last month from a friend.

After two days of fiddling got an MOT on it and took it for a look to Seaton Carue

I had hoped to run it up to the Tan Hill bike show this month but unfortunately a previous owner appears to have misplaced an oil seal and what was a slight weep has matured requiring a bit of a strip down, no problem as I was expecting to strip it anyway (surprised how little needs doing really for what I originally expected).

Also have 2 other Hondas, a 1977 CG and a more up to date sohc single a NX 400 Falcon.
