Title: Clutch
Post by: florence on July 15, 2019, 01:38:39 PM
Sorry to bring this up again but I am going to try replacing my clutch plates and springs.  I have tried everything else.  When I go over a bump in the road the clutch starts to slip and overtaking things is a bit of a gamble, too much throttle too quickly and off goes the clutch.  It is very annoying.

The reason I bring it up here is that I have seen so many conflicting views about what to do.  I have looked at Barnett plates but some say they leave residues in the oil, and some people think the heavy duty springs make the clutch too heavy.

What do we think?

I replaced my plates with some from Bike bitz on flea bay.

Still using original springs.

Works great. Light lever pressure.

I don't cane the clutch. And it works well.

Main difficulty is making the cover oil tight after

Yes, looked at EBC.  Also, I read somewhere about taking emery to the plain steel plates?
