Hi,
I have a 1972/3 CB 500 and with a cracked carb stay plate which needs replacing. If anyone has one please let me know alternatively where would the best place be to get one of these in the UK.

do you mean the alloy plate that the carbs are mounted on? if so I have one.
-
Yup the very one. I have seen some variants of these so have added images for some clarity. As you can see its cracked straight through and there are two other broken pieces. SO best to replace if I can.
-
That cracked piece is a separate item to the main plate and can be replaced if done carefully
-
Just sent another picture of the plate. and there are more cracks on the other side. So was just going to try replace the entire plate with components. All part of the 70's bike revival fun I guess.

looks like the same one see pic. one of the lifter pieces is missing it was broken like yours, but main plate looks to be all in one piece.

Hi Mickwinf,
Yup that looks the same. I will let you know in a few days if this is still required as I may have one from a friend of a friend who I am seeing on Wednesday. Thanks for checking though
-
did you still need this? another member has need of it if you don't.

Hi Mickwinf,
I do as the plate my friend said he had was for a different set of carbs
