Misc / Open / SPA Biker classics 2008..anyone going??
« on: March 22, 2008, 12:43:19 AM »
Took my old CB750 to Spa-Francorchamps last year to the Biker Classics event. What a great event, it's full of Nortons, Triumphs, Honda CBX's Daytona Replica CB750's etc. Loads of Mike hailwood replica 250's 297's and 500/4's. A lovely 125cc 4cyl Yamaha.
Agostini was there, along with Phil Read, Mick Grant Steve Baker, and loads of others.
2 of my mates which I went with last year have entered this year. One on a 1979 Guzzi 850, and another on a 1978/9 Harris suzuki 1000 (They bombed out his 1982 Rotax..too new)

My mate was ther on his 1966 Norton 650ss which he bouhgt new!! was lapping real quick..but then blew the engine.....he should have took a CB750.

If you've never been...then give it some serious thought...it's a fabulous event.

Who's already booked?/

Regards,
Keith

CB750 / CB750 Front end "wobble"
« on: March 21, 2008, 03:49:15 PM »
I know the subject of CB750 handling problems has been mentioned before, but did we come up with any solutions? My CB750 has a wobble on the front end, and I've checked everything!!
The head races are taper roller, and adjusted fine, the wheels are balanced, forks seem ok, and the swinging arm bushes are good. The tyres look OK, made by Continental, with plenty of tread left.
I'm a bit unsure about their sizes 110/90-19 front and 120-90-18 rear??? are there correct? Parts manual lists a 3.25-19 front!!

Hope someone can help.
Regards,
Keith.

CB750 / 900cc Big Bore Kits...worth the trouble ??
« on: January 18, 2008, 01:00:12 PM »
I aquired a 900cc big bore kit for a CB750 some time ago. It's still in the box, and comes with pistons, rings and liners. Can't remember what make it is, it's somewhere in the garage.
Question is:- What sort of job is it to fit, and will it be worth it? I understand it needs an engine stripdown, but do the cylinders require machining to take the new liners, and will I need a different head gasket.
Regards, Keith

PS The bike is running fine at the moment !!

CB750 / Honda 750 KO K1 which is which ??
« on: December 08, 2007, 10:55:44 PM »
I have heared that the K0 model was a interim model, and only 36 came into the UK. The first model being simply a CB750......then the K0.....and then the K1.

Can anyone give any details on this one. I'm presently running a 1971 CB750, (early type sidepanels), and I have another 1971 CB750 in bits, but this has the later K1 sidepanels.

Cetrainly the like to the USA site does not record a K0, but it is possibly just a UK thing.

Any ideas??

Keith.
