Title: My 341's have arrived
Post by: Nurse Julie on August 22, 2020, 10:10:21 AM
Sooooo exciting 😊😊😊 Had a delivery from CMSNL, the new exhausts for my UK CB 750/4 K2 😁😁😁😁.
Other than paintwork, she's all ready for Graham to re assemble. He's re furbished, restored, overhauled every single part of the bike for me. The problem is space, if he assembles it for me now, I have nowhere to keep it as we are totally stacked out with bikes he has restored, so I will have to wait until I sell some of his completed restorations next spring to make space for mine 😭😭😭.

I know the feeling!  This lockdown has made lots of Christmases with packages arriving regularly but I also sympathise with you about the space problem - this latest 400/4 i've been doing was finished in 'large assemblies' for years but no room if it came to assembly.  Fortunately I got rid of 4 bikes this year (and then went and bought a new C125 Super Cub). It IS our own fault you know!
Looking forward to a stack of your posts during final assembly.

Ian

I love getting parcels and I'd be jumping up and down with excitement if that was mine, and I'd be making a bee line for the workshop to fit them, you'll have to buy a shed for it to live in

Cheers

Hope they are as good a quality as the ones I received from CMSL for my 500 Julie - I'm no were near ready for using them but took them out of the boxes to visually inspect - the chrome looks 1st class and much better than the 750 set I got from CMSL 6 years ago.
Looking forward to seeing your K2 (apart from it showing up mine!)

I had started unpacking them to check them over before the UPS driver had time to get back in his van 😊😊😊The quality is excellent Phil, the chrome is very, very good, all the welds are perfect as well. I'm very happy with them.

I feel a bit guilty really Ian as its Grahams bikes I will be selling off next year, well, not that guilty really, I've refused to sell any of my bikes so it's some of his bikes that have got to go 😁😁😁😁😁

Love getting nice shiny bits :)

Mind you...not that many shiny bits on my F2 project....most are painted black!

Julie it might be a good idea to try fitting them on the bike first to see that they are a reasonable fit, i say this from experience as the set i had last year from David Silver would not fit at all, sent them back for another set, and guess what...they also didn't fit, turns out that Silvers entire stock were faulty, they returned my payment, so i ordered a set from CMS, i believe they use the same supplier as David Silver, but they did fit.

P.S If your bike is not assembled then maybe try them on Triggers K6, i'm sure he wouldn't mind ::)

Yes very exciting stuff, I will be very interested to see how they fit also as must buy a set in the future. Yes Phil the problem is a set of these 341’s is the price of a good shed. 😂😂😡😡

Hi Julie & Graham

Wow they will look good on the bike when their fitted i bet maybe you could bring the finished bits into the kitchen and do final assembly in there ? as the exhaust are already there.  8)
Just to keep you up to date I have ordered the piston s/s piston from Honda Classic and a new one piece s/s beaded hose today had to go else where for the brake hose as Dan was nil stock so may be by the end of the week we can start on the front brake assy and bleeding
( i am dreading doing the bleeding as I heard they are a pig to do  :(  )

Once again hanks for your help and guidance

I have just fitted a SS piston from the same supplier to my K6 Cafe Racer project- just check the lead chamfer on the piston as mine had none (was sharp 90 degree) - it chewed 2 seals before I realised. I had the lead chamfer machined as per genuine Honda piston. I think it was a bad batch as I've had the same piston on previous builds with no issues (I did contact the seller and he said he'd check stock). Worth a check

Hi Julie. Are they original Honda 341s? I just had a look on CMSNL and couldn't see a set for sale under the K2 parts list for the exhaust system. Not even after market versions.  Do I need to look so where else on their website?

These are the replica 341's I have purchased Phil. It looks like CMS have sold out again (I've just looked and can't find any listed under K2 or K6). David Silver had some in last week but looks like he has sold out too. They do seem to sell very quickly, a lot of us have been waiting about 18 months for CMS to get new stock in.
Edit... CMS have a full set of original HM341's for sale but at well over £4000, they won't be going on my bike 😂😂😂

Oh - that explains it. Thanks for letting me know.  Wow - £1000 per pipe for originals! I guess someone with too much money will pay. But that is pretty outrageous.  By the way - I'm just about to send my barrels and cylinder head off to Graham for overhaul. I heard he's the best!  Kind regards. Phil
